You only see the glamorous side of Hollywood. You only see the beautiful face with dazzling smiles, it's bullshit really, no one is that happy, no one just walks into a movie, the real drama happens behind the scenes.
I was sixteen when I got my quote big break. I was cast in a major motion picture. it was a supporting role regardless, I was on the big screen.
The movie was calledy the wrath of thunder. I played Marietta, the love interest, I died mid movie, but still!
I was nominated for an Oscar, best supporting actress, I didn't win either. the whole thing was kind of shitty actually. the only thing it did for me was get me on the map.
After the movie I got an agent, a publicist a personal stylist and another audition. this time I was asked to be in a play. this time I was the leading lady. at 18 I was becoming the next star, still up and coming I was becoming more and more famous. this is when the weird shit started happening.

The interviews are the wosrt part of acting.
My agent says to promote the next movie, my publicist says to become a more "liked" person.
"Lana tell them a shit backstory. like how you were bullied as a child and you're taking the role because it has sentimental meaning to you." Marcy, my publicist told me.
"Make sure they know about the movie!" Jack my agent says, "Lake studios wants you too!"
I was about to be on the Kathy Launrr show, a B-list show, but still it had a wide audience. the ages of the audience ranged from early teens to late 40's. my guess is its mainly the latter.
"This interview is important for the movie." Marcy tells me for the hundredth time.
"Okay Marcy, thank you." I told her in a tone that meant shut the hell up.
She kind of blew hail our of her face, but she didn't have any hair in her face, she was rocking the pixie cut, it actually suited her.
One of the set workers came into the dressing room and warned us that there was two minutes until I went out. They took me down to the side of the stage and had me seated next to some c-list boy that I'd seen on some tv show or something. he kind of stared at me in the way most boys do. Awe. I kind of looked at him. average height, not supermodel looks but cute, he had soft features and his nose had a tiny nick in it where it met his eyebrows. his eyes were a soft green, the kind that sea glass takes after years at sea. if he got the role because of his physical appearance than it was his eyes. eyes can make or break a character. (I lied I stared at him for like two minutes)
"Lana we're ready for you" a stage worker said to me and then motioned for me to come follow her onto the set.
Right before I went on Marcy reminded me
"The boy you have a crush on Jayson Laus." Marcy whispered into my ear.
"Welcome to the Kathy Launrr show!" Kathy called out.
Applause sounded and Kathy started the show with my intro-
"six movies two plays and one television series, at only 19, here is Lana Thompson!" Kathy said with so much enthusiasm that I felt a bit better, it wouldn't be as bad as some talk show hosts.
I walked out waving at the audience and smiling like I wanted to be here.
We hugged and then did the kiss on each cheek, normal sort of thing.
We made small talk until Kathy started getting to the subjects.
It normally went like this
Kathy: how does it feel to be on stage in front of all of those people?
