This is my new body, not bad. At least I got a weapon with this one, right off the bat. I have to go back to my training grounds and get my pair of blades, this rusty thing wont do. As I inspect the blade, I notice nicks and dings. The blade is not completely straight either…probably shouldn’t have throw it…I start walking to the nearest town. Not too far down the road an old man in a cart offers me a ride. “yes please, I’m pretty tired, ha ha, thank you for this.” I say as I climb onto the cart. This is a new body and it was injured when I awoke, I need rest…I lean down and fall asleep…

I wake up the next day in a day in some house. The old man is nowhere to be seen. Three little kids are standing around me, looking at me. “Hi?” they scatter. A woman in her 20s walks into the room. The little kids hide behind her as I sit up slowly. “Hi,” she says in a mellow tone. “how are you feelings?” she asks in a sweet tone. “I’m ok, I just remember falling asleep next to an old man and waking up. Can you tell me what happened?” I replied. “the old man is my father and these are my children. We run the local hospital. My husband has gone off to hunter and wont be back for days, so father came to help out.” she explained to me. I hear someone’s back crack, and spring out of the bed, making it just in time to catch the old man from falling on his back, and hurting it more, as well as the support beam he was trying to replace. “you ok?” I asked concerned. The woman rushes out. “oh no father are you ok?” she asked worried. “I’m ok, just need to rest my back for a bit. Then I’ll finish up.” “I can do it for you, it would be the least I could do to repay you for the trip into town.” I explained. “that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.” “no thanks needed, I’m happy to help.” we conversed. I helped the man to a room with a bed, then got right to work replacing the beam that had seemed to rotted out over the years, with the new cedar wood beam.

I finished up bout the time that dinner was ready and the woman offered me dinner in exchange for waking up the old man for dinner. I happily and hungrily agreeing with the offer. It was a simply meal, some ham, rolls, mashed potatoes and gravy as well as some green beans. The food was well made with tenderness that only long hours of roasting could make possible. The rolls were light and fluffy, perfect with the hand turned butter. The mashed potatoes were nice and smooth, no lumps in them at all. The gravy was a nice color prefect taste. I’m not a man for veggies, but I’m sure they were cooked just right. Everything just excited the taste buds in my mouth by just looking at them. The taste was beyond belief. It was heaven…

After dinner I helped clean up the table, she seemed happy to have the help. The little kids had grew to like me enough to ask me to play after the dishes were done, but I still have along ways to go, so I said my goodbyes and left with a full stomach and a warm feeling from helping someone. I found an inn and stayed the night in town, so as to be able to buy a better weapon than this weak blade that I have basically destroyed. So I slept the night away, when morning came, I packed up and left the inn. Went straight to the weapon shop and started checking out his wares. When a panicked citizen ran in. “the hospital is being attacked by thugs!” I grabs a pair of decent looking swords and ran out “I’ll bring them back in a bit!!!” I yelled at the store clerk.

Great more thugs that I have to deal, I thought as I ran straight to the hospital…
