Small Story: Forest

This is the first sister, giving you something to read here.
I looked back at my cabin. I watched as they slept peacefully on their beds. I eased the mesh grate from the widow. It came out with ease. I laid it on the side of our cabin and stepped into the lush forest surrounding us. I weaved through the trees to my favorite spot. The tree was large, and it had been struck by lightning. It was split perfectly in half and when you looked up you could see the sky. In the day, this would be my escape place away from the people and noise. I climbed up the fallen tree to the sky. I sat down and began to write. In a few hours I would go back and sleep.
