Gran's birthday party

The week was almost over only 15 minutes of school left and all I could think about was Saturday and my Grans party. Normally I don't like going to my gran's very much but I was looking forward to her party because. I could rub it in my snobby family members faces that I was not actually related to them and that I had a rockstar as my brother, I was so excited. The last lesson was art so I was talking with my friends, and close to the end of the lesson so I put my paintbrush into my jug of water and took my pallet to the sink and washed the paint off of it, when I got back I put all of my stuff in my bag and took my work to the window sill to dry over the weekend. When the teacher let us out I ran out of the door and down to reception where my friend Oscar and his sister were waiting (they said they would give me a lift home) I ran up to him and jumped onto his back, he carried me outside and to the car where we got in and set off for my house. It wasn't too far away so it only took us 10 minutes to get there. When we did I got out and thanked them both and told them to have a good weekend, I ran inside where Josh was sitting in the lounge talking to my parents.

"Hey sis" he said standing up and giving me a hug, I dropped my bag onto the floor and returned the hug, when I went over to my 'parents' and gave them a hug each, I sat down next to Josh and started asking my parents about my Grans party and what would happen. We spent about half an hour talking about the party, when we finished I dragged Josh up the stairs and into my room and sat him on my bed.

"What should I wear?" I asked him opening my wardrobe. "I swear I have nothing good to wear" I said turning to face him.

"Well it's a good thing that I ordered something for you last weekend" he said standing up and walking to my door "wait here I'll go and get it, it was delivered yesterday." He walked out of the room and came back in five minutes later with a bag in his hand, he passed the bag to me and told me to open it. I grabbed the bag and took the first piece of fabric that I felt out of the bag it was a black vest top which looked lovely, I reached into the bag again and this time I took out a pair of black denim shorts that also looked amazing, there was something else in the bag I pulled it out and found a complete lace dress. I looked up at Josh "it's  perfect, I love it, thank you" I said jumping up and down, I couldn't wait to wear it tomorrow in front of my 'family'. With that we went downstairs and spent the rest of the evening downstairs with Josh. At 11o'clock we all decided it was time to bed so I showed Josh to the spare room and then went up to bed myself.

My alarm went off at 7:00 the next morning so that I could get ready for the party at 12:00 I started by trying to get out of bed, that took me 5 minutes, I then got in the shower and washed my hair. When I was out and dry I got changed into some clothes while I dried and straightened my hair. I went downstairs and ran into Josh's room where he was lying in bed playing on his phone I went over to his bed and lied next to him "you do know its 8:30?" I asked him.

"I know" he said putting his phone down. "I don't get to lie in very often" he said looking at me. "I'll get up in a minute, promise"

"Ok well I'm going to go and help Beth" I said getting up and walking out of his room.

My parents had left half an hour earlier than they were meant to so that they could explain to my family what was happening with me and Josh, so we sat in the lounge just talking, I told Josh what each member of my family was like and how they would act, but in reality I was scared of how they would react to the news.

Half an hour passed so we got into Josh's car and began the 15 minute journey to my grandparents house, we travelled in near silence apart from me telling my brother where to go. I think josh must have been nervous as I could see his hand shaking when he turned the engine off. I told him to stay in the car while I went to talk to my parents, five minutes later I ran back outside and saw Josh standing by his car "I've said hello to everyone so when we go in I can get straight to business" I said as we walked up the drive and to the door.
