Group Dinner

Lucy couldn't stop smiling all day because of the night before. It was for sure her favorite party she ever hosted. Talking to Lauren all night in her room about anything and everything was not how she expected her night to be like, but she was more than happy that it turned out that way. Also, she couldn't stop thinking about the cute note Lauren left her on the side of her bed:

"Lucy, good morning! I don't want to wake you up because you are sleeping so peacefully, but we have a meeting in a bit so I have to head out. I hope you don't mind I grabbed some of your extra stuff in the bathroom for the girls to pamper up. I'll return it as soon as we hang out again, which I'm hoping would be tonight? If you want to get dinner or something let me know because I would like to hang out with you again soon, I miss my best friend.

She read it over and over again just to look at Lauren's cute handwriting and the fact that she said she wanted to hangout with her tonight. Dinner? The two never did dinner before, just lunch. Was this a date? Lucy was thinking she shouldn't get ahead of herself, after all, Lauren was her best friend and she mentally slapped herself for thinking Lauren indirectly asked her on a dinner date.

She began wondering what she would wear, was it casual or fancy? What specifically did Lauren have in mind? Then in dawned on her... She didn't even text her back about it. She immediately grabbed her phone from her pocket and texted her.

To Lauren: Heyyy

To Lucy: Hey Lucy!

To Lauren: So about the note you left me...

To Lucy: yes...

To Lauren: thanks for stealing my things... I really needed them this morning.

To Lucy: OMg you had like two of everything. Plus I said I'll give it back😑 but I'm sorry babe.

To Lauren: well I guess now I have no choice but to see you tonight then, you know only to get my stuff back.

To Lucy: oh really? 😏 that's the only reason why

To Lauren: yes. So dinner right?

To Lucy: I was just suggesting, we could go some place else if you'd like...

To Lauren: dinner would be nice. Anywhere in mind?

To Lucy: How about I pick you up at 6 and then I'll surprise you...

Oh my gosh this sounded like a date. Lucy was freaking out because she didn't know if it was or not. Lauren began to realize that it sounded like she was asking her out on a date, not to mention she was being a little flirty, so she changed her demeanor.

To Lucy: you know I want to make it up to you for lost time. Kind of like an "I'm sorry I'm an asshole who doesn't have time to visit her friends often so the least I can do is buy you dinner" move on my part, sound good?

Lucy was typing when she got that next message from Lauren to interrupt her typing. She frowned. Of course it wasn't a date, how could she be so stupid? 

To Lauren: of course! That all sounds good. I'll be ready by 6.

To Lucy: you know what, while I mention friends, I'll invite Alexa, Vero, Keana, and Luis that would be fun.

Lucy's face fell even more.

To Lauren: yes!!! It'll be a reunion

To Lucy: oh hell yeah! Okay see ya then😊🤗
