- Temper's POV - (in media)

"Aye!" I shout when a painful slap is delivered to my ass. I turn to face my lover, pissed ass fuck.

She cheesed at me widely, "Aye, baby. Good morning," she hands me a tray.

"Awe, what is this?" My anger dissipates, and I sit up in bed while I rub my eyes.

She placed the tray onto my lap.

"Well, I just wanted to do breakfast since you're always the one cooking," She grins.

"How many things you burn until you got it right," I joked and she slapped my arm.

"You ain't shit!" She laughs with me.

"On a serious note... this is real nice Carter. Thanks baby," I peck her cheek.

"When you finish come out to the living room babe. You've got a surprise visitor..." She smirked before she left.

A surprise what?

What kind of bullshit is she planning?

I placed the breakfast aside and decided to do my daily hygiene routine first.

Then I went ahead and finished the meal. And headed out with the tray in hand.

"AUNTIE!" Squealed a little voice and my lower legs were attacked into a hug.

I knew that voice from anywhere. It was my heart in the form of a small body. It was no other than my nephew, James. I placed the tray on the island and picked him up, soaring him high into the air before squeezing him tightly into a hug.

"I missed you so much little man!" My voice came out goofily and babyish.

Carter laughed as she approached me from her and James obvious Netflix and snacks session.

"You was right... he was a surprise, alright. Why ain't you just wake me up when he first got here?" I asked.

"It's not nice to wake someone up while they sleep!" James shouts with enthusiasm in defense of Carter's behalf.

I started tickling him, "YOU– ain't 'posed to side with the enemy!" He laughed and giggled as Carter shook her head.

"C'mon guys. We've got a whole day planned out ahead of us. Go get dressed, Temper." She nudges my shoulder before heading for the kitchen cabinets.

"Oh, really?" I asked with a grin. "Alright then hot stuff. What else you got hidden to surprise me today?"

I placed James back on his feet.

She shrugged as she smirked at me. "Just a fun day out with James. Maybe another surprise tonight," she says seductively.

I playfully gasp and I covered James ears.

"Don't be doing that in front of this nigglet. He already got enough bad influence from me." I grin and we laughed.

James ran to the couch to finish watching his movie and I left to get dressed.

**

The day out was fun until I noticed Carter was feeling a bit sick. She kept coughing and it didn't seem like any ordinary cold. She losing color to her skin.

"Carter? You good?" I questioned and she just nods her head. I watched her suspiciously and shook my head, "Nah... something's up."

Carter coughed hard and once I saw the sight of blood I dropped what I was doing and ran to Carter, "Yo... what's up with you? We gotta get you to a hospital."

"I'm... I'm good Temp," Carter tried but I wasn't having it.

"We getting you to a hospital."

I checked James to make sure he was sleep and called up Alicia's girl Miko to look after him while we was out. She agreed and I was more than grateful.

I got Carter out to the car and drove her to the hospital as quickly as possible while she kept coughing up blood. I kept looking over at her frantically the whole car ride.

I had no idea what was wrong with her. What could be wrong?

We got to the hospital and it took a good twenty minutes of anticipation until she was admitted into a hospital room. They hooked her up to machines and tried to get her coughing to ease. But it got worse by the minute and my heart was breaking.

Seeing Carter in pain hurt me to the core. I didn't ever like seeing her hurt. That's my best friend. My whole heart right there. I hated watching this.

But I was going to be here for her no matter what.

Eventually they got Carter to sleep which was the only way to subdue her coughing fits.

The doctor came in an hour later, "Are you the family of her?"

"I'm her wife," I lied. I just had to know what was up.

"I'm sorry to give you bad news but your wife is suffering from a violent case of Hepatitis C."

Shock rendered through me as I nod my head to show that I understood. As soon as the doctor left anger surged through my body. There was only one way she could've contracted that.

A dirty needle...
