Steve's POV
The warm feel of sunlight against my skin woke me. I heard the waves beating against the shore and looked down to see a sleeping Catherine in my arms. I smiled down at her. She looked so peaceful. I studied her face as she opened her eyes and beamed up at me. "Hey," she said sleepily.
"Hey. Want me to make breakfast?" I ask. She laughed. "No, I definitely do not want you too make breakfast. I'll go make breakfast," she said, pulling the covers off of her and climbing out of bed. She changed quickly and walked out the door. I heard pots and pans banging around downstairs and pulled a shirt on.
"Hey, Cath, what are you making? I was thinking that maybe tonight we could..." I start to yell down the stairs but stop when I hear a muffled scream. "CATHERINE!" I yell, running down the stairs into the kitchen, grabbing my gun. I see pots and pans scattered across the floor along with some broken eggs.
I run into the living room and see a man with his hand across Catherine's mouth with a gun too her head. She's screaming into his hand but he's clenching it over her mouth. She looks terrified. "Hey, let her go." I say calmly, pointing my gun at the masked intruder. He shakes his head and slowly pulls her out the back door, gun still pointed to her head.
A van is waiting for them outside and he forcibly throws Catherine inside and I see her hit her head on the wall, creating what looks like a pretty bad bump and maybe a concussion. She mouthed my name before the van door slammed shut and it sped off.
I fired three shots at it but they all just got lodged in the trunk. I looked at the license plate and memorized the number: YSV 607. Now if only I can figure out:
What the hell just happened?
