Chapter Three: Insurgent

***14 YEARS LATER, CHASE POV***

I had just oken up when my dad called me down to breakfast. He was going to explain my duty today, and I was eager to know exactly what it was. I headed down the stairs and sat down at our rather large table.

"Hey, dad," I said while I dug into eggs and bacon, my favorite.

"Hey Chase. You sleep well?"

"Yea dad, I can't wait for you to tell me mission!"

"That's my boy, so eager to get into things. You're going to Camp-Half Blood today, and will stay there for the summer. You will earn the trust of Perseus and Annabeth Jackson, and when the moment is right, you murder them. It will please the master."

"Yes, father." That's it? No problem! I'm basically a ttrained killer. This should be no problem.

"When do I go?"

"Now." he said, a devious smile on his face. I was a little confused, and then I heard a bus honk outside. I hurried outside and said goodbye to my dad. This was gunna be fun.

**Luke POV**

Yes, I have done it. The demis of Annabeth and Percy will be at the hands of their own child. Kronos will be pleased, I must tell him immediately. I headed down to my lair, and told Kronos the plan.

***CHASE POV***

The driver was a dude who was covered with eyes. I took a seat in the back,and enjoyed the ride.

About an hour later, we arrived at the camp. I felt a strange sense of familiarity. As I entered the gates, my group of demigods was escorted deeper into the grounds. I heard a booming voice.

"ALRIGHT NEWCOMERS! WE WILL NOW ASSIGN YOU A TOUR PARTNER! PLEASE LISTEN FOR YOUR NAME!" said some guy named Chiron.

Great, I thought, I'll probably get stuck with some dweeb, a nobody. Then I heard my name.

"CHASE GALLOWAY, YOUR TOUR PARTNER AND TRAINING PARTNER IS CASSIE JACKSON!" I headed towards Cassie. She was a stunning brunette with eyes as gray as slate.

"Hey, I'm Cassie, you can call me Cass." she said with a smile as she extended her hand.

I shook it firmly and said "Chase."

"We will most likely be spending all of our time together except for meals and bunking, I think... unless your a grandchild of Poseidon and Athena?" she said with a laugh.

"I have no clue, I'll guess I just have to wait to be claimed. It looks like our first course is Sword Mastery with a Mr. Jackson?"

"Ugh!" she sighed, "That's my dad. I should just call it Embarassment 101"

I laughed at that, and we headed to the sparring area. We sat down with our peers and listened to Mr. Jackson.

"Hey guys, I'm Mr. Jackson, you can just call me Percy. Today we can just go over basic swordsmanship. Cass, would you like to demonstrate with me?"

I saw Cass reluctantly get up, and then I realized that Mr. Jackson was my target. This is great. No way to get closer than through their child.

Cass and Percy sparred, like amateurs, but today was basics, tomorrow we'll have the real fun. After they sparred, me and Cassie had our turn. From the moment we began, I knew she was excellent with a sword. It was fun yet challenging - just the way I like it.

"So.... tell me about yourself." she said with a look of interest in her eyes.

"Well, theres not much. My name is Chase, my favorite color is blue, and I'm a diehard Yankees fan. I'm not the most social person, and this is the first time I've had 'fun' since I was young." I said, without losing focus.

"Wow, same for me, except I have fun every day... why don't you?" she stated with concern.

"Where I come from, it's all about training." I saw her lose focus and I knocked the sword out of her hand.

"Crap, you're good." she said with a light laugh.

That's how the day went, me and her talking about each other, us taking forever to claim a winner in our challenges, and us....... having fun.
