"How much can you tell me of what happened?" Looking into the striking blue eyes of the woman in front of me, I wondered ideally if she had read my mind. What had happened? Thinking of the events that led to where I was now, chained to a metal table, surrounded by fully armed men and women, even I really didn't know fully what happened. Everything was colliding in my head. If I was being completely honest, I was in a daze, thinking about everything, and yet thinking about nothing.

The lady in front of me tried again."We know you were some how involved in this. We are just trying to figure out if you are the guilty one so help us out here." Guilty? That struck a chord deep in my bones. Was I guilty? Was I the reason for their deaths? I didn't have an answer.

Shaking her head, she said softly," okay, well since you don't seem to want to talk about this, then tell me who you are?"

Well that one was easy."Ella."

"Well Ella, would you like to explain to me why you aren't in the system, why you don't even seem to exist?"

Looking her in the eye, I said softly, " That's because I don't exist."

Frowning, she looked at me skeptically." Can you explain?"

I couldn't help it, I smirked at the table. " You haven't seen my DNA report have you? Well I can assure you that you wouldn't be asking that question if you had. Heck, here the poor sap comes with the report." A short stout balding man in a white coat sprinted in to the room. The lady in front of me looked a little tousled, like she was the ball in a heated tennis match, being tossed around.

The little man looked at me nervously, brandishing the stack of papers towards her. " Megan, I apologize for interrupting, but I thought you needed to see this. I retested her blood 5 times thinking maybe that I'd made a mistake before. This is impossible!"He ran his hand over his balding scalp, messing the little hairs he did have up. He reminded me of a mad scientist that just discovered something amazing but frightening cause he didn't understand how it worked yet. In a way I guess that would make anyone nervous.

My smirk became a full on grin. "You'll see when you look at that Mrs. Megan, that when the doctor tested my blood, each time, the test results are the same as you can see, if you can read DNA and Recognize things, then you 'll see that my DNA doesn't look human. In fact I can tell you that it isn't. My blood has more characteristics of a wolfs blood, as well as two other species that you don't even know exist, than it does to a humans blood." The doctor and Megan stared at me. Shrugging my shoulders, I looked towards the mirror. Being a one way ticket, I personally couldn't see him, but thanks to my heightened sense of smell, I recognized him by his scent. A heady concoction, it was something my inner wolf recognized. Something I recognized personally. I was tempted to reach out with my mind to see what was going on in his head, but honestly i was afraid of what I'd find. Would he be envisioning my death, or maybe me trapped behind bars? I so badly wanted to erase the disgusted look in his blue eyes. Wanted to run my hands through his long hair and just forget everything that had happened the past two days. Just forget how he betrayed me in the worst possible way, for a creature like me. To be betrayed by a wolfs mate is the worst kind of betrayal. In fact that's really the only thing that was getting to me. The only thing hurting. None of my Physical pain could compare, which was saying something, if you could see me. I wasn't in the best of shape.

A slight pressure started in the back of my mind. Starting small, it slowly grew in strength, sliding it's ghostly fingers over the wall of my mind. Begging for access to my feelings and thoughts.

I know from my own personal experience that getting into a mind like mine, filled so much of one particular feeling or thought, that it was nearly impossible to do so. The only one that can get through your borders like that is your mate, but even that took a lot out of a person's being.

Looking down at my hands, i looked at my blood caked nails. Tiny white scars danced across my tanned skin. they pretty much covered my entire body, some more pronounced than others. the worst one i had was the one that ran from my left shoulder to my right hip, running very close to my belly button. Heck i even had one that ran around the front part of my neck, right above my collar bone. Just the icing on the cake i guess.

The ghostly fingers found a crack in my wall. Shoot! Guess I should've worked harder to keep that from happening, huh. without realizing it before, I felt like an idiot as the familiar mind entered mine.

"Ella, I'm so sorry!" William says softly.
