God, I'm so hungry.

Like, I could eat a giant animal.

I went over to the bakery, keeping my face hidden. No one paid attention to me as I walked in, and it was the best thing. No one would see me stealing. The small, wrapped cakes were worth drooling over, and I couldn't wait to eat them.

I snuck one in my jacket and then three more. Hey, they were amazing and to die for. Not literally. Someone was gaping at me as I put the fifth and finally cake in my jacket. I glowered at them and they scampered off. I quickly exited the bakery, already taking a cake out to eat.

It was delicious, let me tell you. I felt a hand land in my shoulder and I froze. No one touches me ever. Not if they want to live to see another day. Albeit I haven't killed someone yet, I was on the brink of it. Maybe today will be the big day.

I growled and turned around, seeing a policeman staring at me. "You stole," he said to me angrily, "in front of everyone." I raised an eyebrow with a devilish smirk. "Get your hands off me." He didn't. I let out a scream, surprising everyone. "He's touching me!" He officer stepped back in shock, trying to alert everyone he wasn't.

Slipping away into the nearby woods, I snickered to myself. The guy didn't know who he was dealing with. I continued eating my small cakes with pleasure. Soon enough I was deep into the forest, almost to my shack of a home.

Leaves crunched and I looked down. I wasn't stepping on any leaves. I darted behind a tree, silencing myself and my steps. There were thumps and grunts, and I peered around trying to see who it was. After a minute, it was quiet. Warily, I walked out, getting my foot caught in a bush. "Damnit," I hissed lowly to myself. "Who's there?" Someone shouted.

I toppled out of the dense forestation and into a small clearing. A girl with a grey hoodie, a yellow mask with black eyes, and a red mouth stood before me. She held a ragged knife in her hand and I pulled my measly kitchen knives out. "Don't come closer! I won't show mercy!" She warned and I did the opposite.

Advancing to her with an impassive look was normal for me. I did it for anyone. I stared into her eyes, trying to intimidate her. She wasn't fazed, and it seemed as if she could know I was trying. I decided to say something, anything. "Hi. What's your name?" She didn't looked shocked but she said, "Really?" She said, her voice at and emotionless. But by her words, she gave everything away. It passed my mind that she had never had someone spoken like that to her for a long time.

"My name's Soulless. What's yours?" I stared at Soulless, unsure of if I could trust her. She looked at me expectantly and I caved. "My name's Copy Cat." She nodded slowly, and I was quiet. After a few minutes, we started talking. It came smoothly and freely, and I felt happy for the first time in a long time. I haven't had anyone to speak to so truthfully, I forgot how it felt to have someone else know what's going on with you.

We were pretty similar, and for that I was surprised. Her parents were dead, and her brother had ran off and left her alone. Soulless was like me, and I felt a bond between us form. Both of our brothers left us and we could express how we felt about the whole ordeal. We talked and talked, never once leaving each other. It felt nice and I was grateful for company.

Years later and I finally made a trustworthy friend. It was shocking. But what was more shocking was the fact that I spilt everything about me to her. She now held all of my secrets and I felt vulnerable. I haven't felt vulnerable since I was last with my Father. The day was growing dark and night fell upon us. I didn't once stop to leave her. It felt wrong to.

When day breached the sky, I saw Soulless stop in a spot of sunlight pouring through the trees. I stayed quiet and watched her take off her mask. I examined in her face, remembering as much as I could before she saw me. When Soulless did, she quickly put her mask back on. I still stayed quiet, not saying a word about it. It wasn't my place to say anything about her with her mask off. I could see her stance and how it was relaxed.

I could tell she felt grateful for me not saying anything, and I smiled internally. Having a friend feels so nice, and I knew I would get used to it very quickly. We both walked off in a sporadic direction, chatting softly. My head swarmed and I looked ahead at the thick brush, thinking. Whatever what was going to happen in the future, I knew we would go brought it together.
