We walk until we reach the tallest tree house all obviously man made but not noticeable.
A rope ladder falls out of nowhere. The man climbs up and I shortly follow. After we get up, the room looks gigantic.
"How'd you build this?"
"When we were building we'd sneak into the corner of Milford behind the matneice store" the creature said poring two cold glasses of wine.
I take a drink thinking of it as a grape juice, "Bleh gross what is this?"
"It's our famous of recipe grape wine"
"And you give it to Children!?"
"Most of us didn't get the courage to leave our towns until we're old enough to handle wine sorry boy, you better get used to that drink that's all we have."
"No water?"
"Not to drink; unless you want to drink bathing water"
"So this wine is great"
The man gives a slight chuckle.
"What's Milford?" I asked breaking the silence.
"Well it's another town the same as storyburg just about 30 miles away from it too. Once every two years we get two people. We got a note from the elders saying the last two will come soon. Last week we got the very first girl. Her name is Areabella, they we don't know which town she came from. We haven't been able to ask her because we may have threw a rock at her head and she's been unconscious in a coma since then" I scoot the wooden chair back a little bit.
"Can I see her?.."
"Uh, I guess so. Follow"
We make our way back down the ladder to the only house not in a tree but still invisible to the eye. He opens the door and steps inside holding the door open for me. I walk inside and it's huge. We walk in a room with a paper sign on the door saying Arebella.
A little girl is in there probably around the age of seven.
"I know her. I don't know-know her, but I recognize her. She's one of my friend's little sister. Her name's Rubella but people say it wrong. She went missing about a week ago. Nobody knew they wouldn't let anyone go outside for two whole days the day she was missing. Everyone had to stay in sight."
"She's from storyburg?" he acted surprised.
"Yes, is that odd?"
"It's never happened before out of the million times we get New people it's never from the same town. There's 12 districts or towns"
"Districts?"
"We're on a large island in the middle of no where. All of the districts are under complete strict policies that won't allow them to know any other place."
"Why?"
"That's why you're here that's for you and Rubella to find out and everyone else to understand."
"What district is this?"
"This is an unknown district to where helicopters and planes cannot see from the camouflage of our houses and so it looks as the rest of the fields between. If we're found we could be taken away brajnwashed, or even blown away"
"Wh-what?" I asked while everything was going blurry and went black in a matter of seconds.
