(Forthcoming Angel is the beginning to this series. It's the first book, you can find it in my other works. It's pretty much just introduces you to Angelina.)

The night was warmer then most summer nights as I sat in the sand watching the sky change colors as the sun set. The ocean was turning black as day turned to night. The waves crashed to shore, my feet sitting on top of the sand just by the water, every so often the water would rush up, just barely sliding across my toes but then sinking fast into the sand.

The wind was warm just like the air around me. The only coolness lingered in the few touches of the ocean water. It was the last few weeks of summer and the thought of school made me sink, realizing it was back to no sleep and constant anxiety. But there was something ells, lately things have been feeling... off, different, I felt I guess you could say, stronger, not physically or mentally I just felt stronger. I talked to my grandmother and she thinks its because I'm maturing into and adult. She said that girl mature faster then boys, but that's not it.

"Angelina it's getting dark, come inside." My mother called from the back porch. Growing up both of my parents have have been overly cautious of me in this world. Their excuse is, there are so many things you don't know about that are extremely dangerous, An no matter how many times I ask what they are it's always the same answer, you'll learn about all of it when your older. I turned seventeen just a little over two months ago and still nothing.

I got up wiping the sand off my jean shorts. Taking one last breath of the ocean air before heading inside. I smiled at the familiar smell, the smell of summer and freedom. My smile faded as I turned to the house. As I opened my eyes I swore I saw a blonde boy standing straight ahead of me in the distance. This was a private beach, my father had this house secluded from pretty much every human life, what was this boy doing here.

I stared straight at him making sure he was truly there and he was. I took my eyes off him to look around maybe there was someone ells with him, or his car but nothing. "Hey are you..." I trailed off as I turned back to nothing. He was gone. I looked around again turning to face the water even, but nothing he was gone.

I shook it off. It must have just been the light. The sun was setting, actually it was almost completely dark out and my eyes were still adjusting, that was probably it.

I walked into the house, the cool air from the air conditioning hitting me. I grabbed one of my mother sweatshirts off the chair of the kitchen table. I was trying to shake of what I thought I saw but I couldn't. The more I thought about him the more something about him seems familiar. I grabbed a coffee cup out of the cabinet and warmed up some water for tea.

I stood in front of the stove waiting for the water to warm when I felt a body approach from behind. "Hi sweetheart." My father leaned against the counter. He smelled of oil and metal after spending almost all day out under the car which was not going to make it no matter how many times he tried to fix it.

I gave him a small smile, not looking him in the eyes hoping he wouldn't realize that something was bothering me. "What's wrong." I rolled my eyes giving a faint smile. I couldn't hide things from my father he knew me to well.

"Nothing, just got a lot on my mind because of school starting."

I could tell by his flat expression that he knew that wasn't it but he played along. "Okay, well you know that if anythings bothering you, you can always talk to me, about anything." I gave him a true smile this time.

He took a step towards me to kiss my head. "You know that?" He was leaning his head to try to see my face but I stood there staring at the ground.

I composed my thoughts and looked up to him with a smile. "I know, I promise it's nothing, but if it gets to big I'll talk to you." He smiled and kissed my head once more.

The tea pot went off with I high pitch scream. I grabbed it pouring it into my cup. I turned seeing my father rummage threw the fridge. "Dad?"

"Ya?"

"Don't you think you want to take a shower first?" He leaned out of the fridge.

"Why?"

My mother appeared from the hallway. "Because you smell like you've spent the entire day under a car." She smiled at him playfully.

"Oh really? He reached for her waist but she pulled away fast, he just barely touched her shirt. He jumped the few inches it took to grab her and pulled her into an escapable hug.

"You smell so disgusting." My moth replied.

I leaned my elbows into of the kitchen island watching them play.

"That's not going to stop me." Her eyebrows raised up almost as if to say, oh really.

He leaned in for a kiss but she slipped out under his arms and darted for the stairs. "Must be all the oil you were playing in today." He gave a smile of confidence and ran after her up the stairs and into the bathroom.

I rolled my eyes as I walked to the front door to the front porch to the swing.

The sun had completely gone, the sky now filled with little lights making the sky sparkle. I hated that we lived to far away from everything but being able to go outside at night and see millions of stars, not just a few, was amazing.

Seeing my parents and how much in love they are has always made me believe that I have another half somewhere out there. My mother told me that she could always feel it, that she was being draw to someone special even before she knew of my father. I've never felt that way, I've always felt he was missing. Maybe I wasn't destined to have an other half.

"Hey." I was jilted out of my thoughts as a voice yelled from the drive way. It took my eyes a minute to focus to see where he was but I smiled anyway. By the time my eyes focus he was walking up the porch steps.

"Hey Gabriel." Gabriel has been my best friend since kindergarden.

"You okay? " He asked as he sat down beside me on the swing laying his arm on the back of the swing.

"Ya I'm fine."

He raised his eyebrow unconvinced.

I laid my head on his shoulder, instinctively making him wrap his arm around me. "I don't know I just haven't been feeling my self lately."

"School?"

"Maybe, I don't know."

We sat in silence looking up at the sky, every so often Gabriel would make a remark about the star patterns to try to make me laugh, and even though some were funny I would muscle up a laugh.

A cool breeze slid over my bare skin making me shiver, "Gabriel, what time is it?" I asked.

He slipped his phone out of his jeans. "Shit, I gotta go my parents are gonna kill me." He jumped over the few porch steps to the ground but then turned back around and ran back up to me kissing my head. "Night." He jumped again running to his car. "Call me if you wanna talk." I smiled as he skidded off.

I was guessing it was late. I walked into the house, the lights off all but a small lamp by the couch. I put my cup on the island and walked over to the lamp turning what little light was shining off. I slumped up to my bedroom feeling the effect of tiredness creeping threw my body.

I slowly slipped my pajamas on drawing into my bed. Drifting off to sleep fast.
