I live in Paris.
I'm a proffesional clothes designer.
Sounds perfect right?
My name is Claire, I'm 23 years old and my life isn't perfect, well, not since my mom died seven years ago, or should I say was killed. She was sick with an illness no one told me about and a day after being in hospital, had to be "put out of her misery". I would have willingly given my life to save her, but would I be prepared to give others'? I never thought about that when the local "sorciere" stopped me in the street the day after my mom died.
"I can see your sorrows child", she said, "come."
I followed her to a park bench right underneath the eifel tower. She took my hand and said,
"I will give you one wish to releive the pain in your heart".
I knew witches weren't to be trusted but what if I could use that wish to bring back my mom... I closed my fingers into a loose fist and felt a breif surge of power rush through my body.
"Merci", I said to her quietly and got up from the bench.I jumped as she grabbed my wrist.
"Be careful what you wish for girl", she warned.
She let go and I hurried away, still a little startled. I thought about the wish she gave me. What if it doesn't work? What if the old lady just lied to me then invented a story explaining what I had done wrong? My mind bombarded me with questions until I got home and fell into a long restless sleep.
