I'm stuck in the past

It was like spears of ice jamming into his flesh whenever he walked by the General today. Ren just glanced at him and the look on the Generals face explained everything. Large bags under his watery red eyes. A unwavering frown plastered to his face made him seem depressed. Kylo Ren felt himself pity the older man, and he decided he would talk to him when the Generals shift was over.

When the decided time came Ren went to find Hux. He saw the red head walk past a few officers before dodging around a corner and walking a way that he doesn't walk often not many troopers walk down that way. It was considered one of the back allies of the ship. Ren heard a few sniffles as he walked up to Hux who was obviously not paying attention to his surroundings.

"...General?" Ren was now walking beside him.

The man visibly jumped, and he quickly ran his hands over his face before looking at Ren. He looked worse than he did earlier, and Ren saw and felt through the force that he had been crying. Such a powerful man what could reduce him to this?

"Oh..Ren. What is it?" He spoke in a controlled tone as if he was perfectly fine all day.

"I was wondering if I could talk to you, privately in your room."

Hux looked warily at him, and he looked as if he wanted no part in the conversation that Ren hadn't even started yet. 

"If we must.."

Ren followed Hux to his room and waited for the General to step in first. His room was nothing less than chaos. It was completely unexpected there were stacks of papers everywhere, books tossed around and open folders with maps hanging out of them were strewn about. The bed laid untouched and it looked like it hadn't been used in days.

"What is it Ren." Hux was standing infront of him tapping his foot, annoyed .

"It has come to my attention...that you are.." Ren rolled his eyes and decided to be blunt "What's wrong? You've been off today and its got me and others around you worried."

Hux didn't speak and he just stiffened and shrugged, he turned his head away from the other and Ren felt the pain emitting off of him. The crippling anguish and suffering almost made Ren stumble back. The General was like the sun, bursting and flaming with emotions they broke away from him and hit Ren like a punch to the face, he was like a cold empty star being slowly stripped apart.

"Hux, maybe I can help..just tell me." 

"You can't help me! No one can help me! No one then cared about me, so why have people started caring!? Go away!"

 It was like an explosion the anger ripped at Rens mind making him wince. The pain welling up inside Hux was unbearable, and he shook and slowly tears fell from his eyes. Ren looked at him with pity and watched him drop to his knees in anguish. 

"I'm so..so a-alone.." He cried

Ren walked slowly over to him and got on his knees so he could look at him, he wrapped his arms around Hux who just sobbed uncontrollably into his shoulder. Ren has never met someone so lost and so without hope in his life. 

"Hux...why are you like this? Who hurt you?"

"M-my father..I-I'm not allowed to be like this. I-I can't b-be like this" he tried to stop crying, but it made him cry harder

Ren felt Hux push his memories towards him and he went through them carefully they were all about his father. A small red headed child stood fearfully looking up at his father looming over him, tears ran down his cheeks as his father yelled at him calling him a "failure" and "a disappointment to everyone who looked his way" he was the embarrassment of his family. Ren so badly wanted to put a end to the child's torment, but it was just a distant memory.

"I'm a-a failure..a-a embarrassment and d-disappointment to e-everyone..He was r-right, he's always right"

"You are not." He rubbed the others back "you shall never be hurt like that again. I promise." 

Ren would purge the feeling of uselessness from Hux even if it took him years. No one deserved to feel like this, not even anyone in the resistance. It was too heartbreaking to handle as he watched Him cry. 

After an hour of sitting on the floor and whispering comforting words to Hux, he finally calmed down. Hux enjoyed the feeling of being comforted, it made feel loved and cared for which are two things he never felt before which meant he didn't know how to handle them.

"Thank You Ren. I really appreciate this" 

"Of course." He ran his fingers through Hux's soft ginger hair.

Hux settled in closer to Ren reveling in the warmth that the Ravens body radiated. A while later Hux burst into tears again, which made Ren hug him tightly. He felt his distress, and let him cry it out. When too much of something happens, and you let it pent up long enough it will send shockwaves. Hux will probably be crying for days on end. Ren decided to think of Hux as a emotionally abused desolate touch starved individual, so he made sure to stay close and to take care of him.

The way Hux reacted to Rens tenderness was pleasing for him to watch, because it made him feel like he was making Hux happy. When he rubbed a specific point on his neck the ginger purred with delight and his noises became louder as Ren ran his hands over his back.

"I care for you deeply General" Ren kissed Hux gently 

Hux was taken aback at Rens actions, but then gladly went with it and kissed back. It had been forbidden for Hux to ever kiss someone. His parents never kissed or hugged or anything romantic. It made him wonder if he was doing it right, would Ren care that he didn't know how to love? All these thoughts made Hux pull back quickly.

"Did I hurt you?" Ren asked worriedly 

"No..you didn't I'm just...I've never loved before, and I don't know how to.."

Ren just smiled and shook his head laughing lightly 

"Well if you want I could teach you" He replied to Hux's dilemma. 

"Teach me?" 

"Yes, teach you. I will love you, and soon you'll learn what loving is like, and you can love me back"

Hux wrapped his arms tightly around Ren "yes, I want you to teach me how to love"

Ren kissed him softly and smiled when he pulled back. He picked Hux up and took him to the bed for cuddling.

"Well step one is saying I love you." He watched Hux think this over and nod.

"I love you" 

"...I love you too"
