There once was a cat named Johanna, who never liked to walk, she would sit on her butt and never move. Johanna spent two years on the street with her father, Johnathan. One day, the pound caught both of them in a net and took them away. Johanna never saw her father again. Johanna was deported, shipped away to America from Tokyo but her father was killed because he was in the pound to long.
Johanna was put into a pound in Texas, she was quiet and afraid of everything and always tried to hide in the tiny cage. One day, a woman named Sita came to the pound and took Johanna home. Sita loved to help troubled animals especially cats and nurse them back to health. She was always truthful but she kept one secret because she thought people would call her crazy. Sita could speak to animals.
As soon as Sita reached home, she took Johanna out of her carrying crate and started asking Johanna questions. Johanna told Sita of Tokyo, her father and her neglect at the pound. Even though cats don't cry, Sita could hear it, the sadness, the tears the horrors. It was a hard life. Johanna talked to Sita for several hours until Johanna finally collapsed with eating so much food.
Johanna was finally enjoying life once more. She went back to her kitten habits which were to be lazy and sit and get fat. Sita spoilt Johanna to the point where Johanna never got out of her bed besides going to use the litter box. Johanna did nothing for two years, all she did was get carried away in conversations with Sita. On the ninth of November, 2000, Sita passed away due to stage four brain cancer and Johanna was willed to Sita's family. However, Johanna didn't enjoy living with Sita's family, it was as if she were in the pound again.
Johanna became sad and lonely once more. She remembered her father and Sita, they were her only family and now she was stuck with people who almost killed her on multiple occasions.
On September the twentieth, 2002, Johanna began feeling ill. Sita's family did not notice and she was left to suffer. On October the ninth, 2002, Johanna went to the back yard, lied down in a hole under the bushes and passed away peacefully in her sleep.
After she passed, no one in Sita's family noticed her death but Johanna was finally happy. When Johanna died, she flew up to heaven and at the gates, there they were. Sita and her father, Johnathan, we're waiting on her, waiting at the gates for her. Johanna finally realized that she was happy, that she was loved.

The moral of this story is that all animals should be treated like people because they too feel emotions and they too should have the quality of life that us humans have♡
