Chapter 2

Amy's (POV)

The beeping of my alarm woke me up for that 5th time, I threw my hand out the covers trying to reach to turn it off but when I couldn't reach it I begrudgingly got up and slammed my hand down on the alarm, it was only 8am but I should've gotten up at 7am so now I have to rush to get ready for training

I quickly put on a pair of jean jodhpurs, a long sleeved dark green top and some very colourful riding socks. I go over to my dresser and pick up my hairbrush to go through my hair and put it into a low pony.

No one was in the kitchen so I made myself some coffee and just got an apple to eat, I quickly drink my coffee and I put the cup In the sink. I start to walk over to the stables while eating my apple when I get there I have only eaten half of it so I give the rest to Spartan. My mum had already given the horses the feed because she always gets up at 6:30am to have a head start, I go to grab Spartans head collar when my mum comes walking out her office "Amy, you're not riding Spartan I think he can have a rest today, so go get Loki from the field , I'll meet you in the arena so hurry" she said as she pats Spartan on the head and walks out, I groan as I get his head collar knowing this is going to be an eventful ride.

I walk over to the field where Loki and Thor are grazing, I am a big fan of marvel so when we got these two together we had to call them after the two gods, they even have their personalities, so that's why riding Loki was going to be an eventful ride, he hasn't been ridden for over a week so he's really fresh. I call Loki over as I walk into the field, they both look up and Thor comes trotting over but loki just slowly walks behind him, "hey boy, are you happy to get a break from Loki now?" I laugh as he nods his head, I put Lokis head collar on and walk him over to the stables to quickly groom him down and tack him up but as I was trying to put his bridle on he kept stretching his long neck up "Loki! we do not have time for this" I say getting impatient with him, I finally get his bridle on i rush to get his saddle on because we are going to run abit late and my mum hates it when i run a bit behind schedule saying if i was late for a competition I would be disqualified.

I managed to get into the area with 2 minutes to spare, I fix his girth and slide the stirrups down, once I know everything was okay I put my foot in the stirrup and jumped up on three, I put my stirrups to the jumping length and checked to see if the girth needed fixing again as my mom came in to fix the jumps around the arena, "okay just walk around the outside" she said as she stood in the middle watching our every move, I squeeze Loki to walk, he went straight forward trying to trot but I held him back in the walk, I walked him around the outside and then changed directions and walked the full arena that way as well, "okay I want you to trot and do some circles around the jumps" she instructed

I get Loki to trot, he was bubbling with excitement wanting to go over the jumps, as we was trotting around the jumps he was doing some little bucks, I would get constant shouting from mum telling me to get control of him, after 10 minutes we started to canter around the arena while going in circles and changing directions and then it was finally time to go for the jumps, the first couple of jumps Loki was listening nicely and it felt like we was flying over the jumps, every time we cleared at least two jumps the same height, mom would make them higher.

as I finished going over 1m30 jumps, mum went to put them up again, I trot Loki around getting him to focus, I look to the jumps to see she has at least put it up to 1m50, I haven't do that high with Loki before

"are you sure Loki can do that?" I ask a bit nervous

"yes!! now come on" she said as she stands in the middle again, I squeezed Loki into a canter and went straight to the jump but we went a 2 strides late but Loki still tried to jump, I grabbed onto his mane to keep myself on, when we landed I heard the pole fall from the jump, as it fell to the floor Loki freaked out he started bucking and rearing, I managed to get control of him and slowly looked towards my mom but she was shaking her head as she fixed the jump

"again" is all she said, I get loki into a canter and try again but as we was going towards the jump, a motorbike came fast past the arena making a ton of noise which caused Loki to slam on his breaks right as he was about to take off, he turned around and ran in the oppesit direction, as he stopped i went flying toward and crashed into the jump, I get up to and storm towards the person who spooked Loki "are you stupid making all those noises around horses!" I shout as I near him, he takes his helmet off and I'm shocked to it ty

"'Maybe you should learn how to sit to your horse" he remarks back before I could reply to him my mum comes over holding Loki

"Oh Ty your early.. we are just going to finish up soon and I'll be right with you" she says as she hands me Loki and walks back to the middle of the arena, I get back on and get Loki to have a trot and canter before aiming him towards the jump this time he goes over it win plenty of room to spare

"That was good now cool him down and put him back out in the field with Thor" Mum says and walks over to Ty "follow me and I'll show you around" she says walking away

I cool Loki down for 10 minutes and then take him back to the barn to untack him, I go into the tack room to see that my mum
is showing ty where all the cleaning products was for the tack. I quickly put the tack away and lead Loki back to the field, as soon as I take the head collar off he gallops off, I close the gate after me and walk back over to the stables.

When I get into the barn, I see that Ty has already gotten to work and is grooming Copper. I get Spartan out and tie him up on the opposite side, I start to groom him when I notice Ty had stopped grooming Copper and was watching me "do you need anything?" I ask just glancing over and then going back to Spartan

"Just enjoying the view" he smirked

"What are you doing here anyway? Don't you have other people to annoy?" I say with a roll of my eyes

"I would much rather annoy you but if you most know I need the work so I'm working here for the summer" he says as he puts Copper back in the stable and gets Harley out

"What's his name?" He asks as he ties him up

"That's Harley he's only 3 years old, still unbroken"

"I like him, who's going to train him?" He starts to groom him

"I was going to but Mum wants to sell him now as she believes we don't have the time for him anymore, it's a shame as he would've made a wonderful horse" I sign and put Spartan away "if you want I can talk to Mum about you training him that way we might be able to keep him" I add as I start to leave

"Why would I want to train him? I'm just here to work" he says

"Whatever then, don't say I didn't offer" I mutter while walking back towards the house
