Darkness To My Light (Zeref And Lucy)

Chapter One: the broken curse

Lucy opened her eyes to see Zeref in her arms. Something happened, she felt better. Like some heavy weight was lifted off of her. The curse was gone.

Zeref was still in the hospital bed. He wasn't hurt, just felt drained of energy so, he decided to take a nap.

The celestial spirits smiles at the black wizard she fell in love with. She would've never thought something like this would happen. She never thought Zeref was like this. He never really was evil and now he can finally be happy.

When he woke up after breaking the curse, they talked for hours and laughed until the doctor told them he needed to sleep. He told her about the funny things natsu did has a kid. He talked about his parents, and the night they all left him alone in the world that was still waging war.

She wondered if he would be willing to become a fairytail member. Then she hears footsteps behind her at the door. She turns to see her best friend.

"How is he doing?" Natsu asks, his arms crossed with a very serious look on his face.

"He's just tired," She responds.

"You really do love him..."

She could only nod.

"I'm sorry for everything I did. I was just worried about you," His cheeks slightly turned pink.

"I know and it's okay," Her smile made him do his famous grin.

"I swear, if he still wants to destroy humanity and all that, I'm going to punch him in the face," His laugh was soft.

Lucy giggles, "I don't think that'll happen. He'll be okay now."

"Will he? Four hundred years is a long time to have that curse. Even though it's gone now, his mind could still be messed up."

Lucy looks at the fire dragon slayer in the eyes, "I have a feeling everything will go fine." 'He can finally be with you, Natsu,' she thinks to her self. He didn't need to know what he is to Zeref, not yet anyways but, she wasn't going to be the one to tell him. That was Zeref's choice. She just hoped natsu would be okay after it. Would natsu eventually treat him like a brother? Would they be close? She knew Zeref would want that. He loved Natsu enough to dedicate his life to bringing him back to life four hundred years ago. He knew the consequences and still did it. Hopefully Natsu will realize how much he cares and not how he acted when cursed.

Maybe the curse really did mess him up beyond repair. That wouldn't mean she'd give up on him. She was the light to his darkness. She would save him. He deserved to be happy. She loves him with every inch of her heart.

The past weeks with him have been amazing. He smiled and laughed. She went to Alvarez and met some wonderful people. She learned more about her mother too. Everything in her life changed so fast, it almost felt like a dream. She never wanted to wake from it if it was.

Then to her surprise, Natsu sat next to her by the hospital bed.

"You don't have to stay here," She tells him.

"I want to," he smiles slightly, "these past weeks we've been so distant with each other. We are best friends, it's always better when we are together."

"Right," lucy beams at the pink haired boy.

"You said that before..."

"You remember that?" She was shocked.

"I remember some things!" He says defensively.

"Times to eat, maybe," She covers her mouth with her hand and snickers.

"That's important. Got to stay full all the time for full potential," he rubs his belly with a huge grin across his face.

Natsu and Lucy talked for awhile longer till it got dark outside. The full moon shining through the big open window. Lucy fell asleep, her head on the mattress next to Zeref's sleeping body.

Natsu watched the girl he loves, breathing softly as she dozed off. Her grabs an extra blanket and puts it over her, "goodnight, luce," he whispers and leaves the two in the darkness.
