Darkness To My Light (Zeref And Lucy)

Chapter Four: I thought dragneel stood for dragon and igneel

"Because, my name is Zeref Dragneel," the black wizard says calmly but, the truth was his heart was racing. He was afraid of what his brother Natsu might say or do.

"Igneel gave me that last name..." the pink haired boy responds.

"I see where you would think that... but, what I told you was the truth."

"So, you're a distant relative?"

"No... I'm your older brother."

"That sounds like a load of crap," natsu started to feel a bit of rage.

"It isn't," zeref explains almost everything to the dragon, leaving out the part about him being E.N.D. Surprisingly Natsu stayed quiet the entire time, "I felt like you should know... now that everything has changed."

"So, I traveled through the eclipse gate along with gajeel, wendy, sting and Rogue for the purpose of killing acnologia?"

The dark Mage nods, "yes..."

"So why give me this book though?"

"Igneel told you not to destroy it and I know you'll keep your word on that."

"How do you know all that?"

"I just do," he smiles slightly.

Natsu holds the book in his hands, his grip getting tighter and tighter on it, "all the things you said to me.... you told me I'd feel even more despair.... brothers don't say that stuff...."

"I'd blame the curse but, it wouldn't make everything I've done and said okay, I know that...."

"Everything you said just sounds crazy. We don't even look that much alike!" The dragon slayer points at the mage before him.

Zeref's eyes widen, "yes we do! I have canines like you do!" Some reason he felt offended.

"Then where did my pink hair come from?"

"Our mom."

"And we have different colored eyes," natsu crosses his arm in frustration.

"I didn't say we were twins! Siblings can look different from one another," the black wizard shook his arms out, feeling annoyed by their arguing.

"Oh no!" The fire shouts, his hands on his head.

"What?" Zeref was confused.

"I'm ancient like you!"

The dark Mage just stared at his little brother not saying a word until, "that's what you're upset about?!"

"It's so awful.... I'm old... so old...."

Zeref smiles proudly, "four hundred years old."

Natsu does a quick sob.

Zeref sighs, "I'm heading back to the guild. Lucy is probably waiting for me."

All the sudden the dragon slayers face turns serious, "if you ever hurt her. I'll burn you to ash. I know that your not cursed or anything but, I have a feeling it's far from over."

"I have the same feeling," he whispers.
