{Matthew's Point of View.}
[6:30 am, Monday.]
My alarm was blaring. I was still half asleep and not ready to face the next day of school. Only a month and half left to go.
I forced myself out of the warm abyss in my bed. As I rummaged through my closet for an outfit, I hummed a soft tune. After settling on my black pair of Nike sweatpants and a white v-neck shirt, I walked into the bathroom to wash my face.
My morning routine was nothing special. Get dressed. Wash face. Cologne. Eat. Leave. Every day was the same. My mom has already left for work so I'm roaming the house alone.
Once I was finished my small routine, I hopped into my car to start the short drive to school.
Edgewood High. Home of the Mustangs. Nothing too special. We were just any ordinary high school; full of jocks, pricks, and snobby bitches. I didn't find myself a jock, as I never hung out with them. I had my small friend group; the Outcasts you could say.____________________
Something seemed out of the ordinary. Same people making out at the lockers, same groups gossiping by the water fountain. But suddenly, my eyes zoned in on some kid I've never seen before.
Sure, there was a few thousand kids here, so surely one couldn't catch my attention. But he seemed..lost.
I made my way over to the unfamiliar male. "Hello," I began, "Are you new here?" My head tilted. Trying to find anything familiar about him.
His shoulders shrugged, eyes gazing to the ground then into his locker. "Yeah. And you are?" He asked.
"Oh, I'm Matthew. Nice to meet you!" I exclaimed with a huge smile, holding my hand out to shake.
He stared at me for awhile before shifting on his feet and slowly shaking my hand. "Alexander. But call me Alex."
