I sit in camp grooming my pelt. I look up as Brightwing and Skittersnap pad into camp, talking together. I glare at the back of Skittersnap's head as he pads away to get freshkill. Oh how I wish he had never came into my life with Brightwing. I sigh and pad to the warrior's den to get some rest before I have to go on patrol.
I yawn as I wake up and pad out of the warrior's den. I spot Brightwing by herself, and Skittersnap a little ways off. If I want to have Brightwing as my mate I'll have to ask now before Skittersnap gets to her first.
"Brightwing would you be my mat-" I'm cut off as Skittersnap pads over and walks away with her. Well, there goes that plan. I watch sadly as Skittersnap whispers something to Brightwing and Brightwing jumps with joy. I know what happened and there's no point in watching so I pad out of camp. I hear follow me and get annoyed.
"Hey, I'm so-" I cut him off before he finishes.
"Don't even bother!" I hiss, before bounding off. I stop at the border to loner territory which the Clans haven't explored beyond. Maybe Clan life isn't for me, I think and step over the border.
"Where are you going?" I hear a she-cat say.
I turn around to see Pepperspeckle standing at the border.
"Away." I answer.
"Why?" She asks.
"Because there is nothing left for me in the Clans. Don't try and stop me." I snarl as I start climbing the hill.
"W-well don't come b-back!" She yowls after me.
"I won't!" I yell back.
I turn and pad away into the unknown.
