It was a normal day in London when I first saw his smiling blue eyes. He came in every day after that to get the same drink. Green tea with sweet milk. Every time he walked into the Starbucks I worked at, an air of warmth and light followed him. Wherever he went, people seemed happy. Unfortunately, because I was a barista, I never caught his name. Plus, even if I did try to speak to him, I'd probably just fuck it up. Day after day, I watched him come in with his blue eyes and all to order his tea. I wanted to speak to him more than anything, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I remember the day it happened. I'll never forget that day. He walked in as usual but someone was with him. A girl. I'll never forget how I cried that night. How I cried my eyes out until there was nothing left in me. That night I called my boss to quit. I knew that there was no way I was brave enough to see that. I'd get a job elsewhere. I could never look into those blue eyes again. Slowly but surely, my memory of the blue- eyed boy faded. It never fully went away, but I moved on with my life. Until one day, I passed the Starbucks. Nostalgia tugged at my legs, willing them to go forward, inside. I opened the door, face-down as usual to avoid making eye contact with anyone and tripping up. I strolled up to the cashier to pay for my drink. Green tea with sweet milk. "No way! I love that drink!" said the cashier. I looked up. I looked up straight into those beautiful blue eyes I knew so well. "Your name please, sir?" He asked patiently. I stuttered "Oh right, for the cup. Um-" "No" the blue- eyes boy said. "Oh. Uh. What?" I blushed. "I just want to know," He winked devilishly. "Dan. My name is Dan," I said as I smiled for the first time in a long while. "Pleasure to meet you Dan. I'm Phil."
