AWAKENED

Chapter 2

Anna pulled her jacket collar up on her neck. It was another normal day in freezing paradise. Anna pulled out her camera and took a photo of a couple. Suddenly she was turned and lifted off the ground.

"Blake!!" Anna screamed.

Blake spun her around in the air. It had been a whole year since Anna had started at the school with Blake, and they were both happy. Anna had straight A's and she was getting sponsored left and right. She was so happy especially since Blake was in her life. He hadnt marked her yet though and that was really bugging Anna. She wanted the rush and she was sure Blake wanted it too.

Blake set her down and put his forehead against hers.

"Oh, how I love you Anna." He said leaning down and pressing his lips against hers.

Their lips moved in sync. He grabbed around her waist and closed the non-existant gap between them. Anna threw her arms around his neck.

Blake pulled back. "Did you miss me?" He asked Anna.

Anna bit her lip.

"You were gone too long."

Anna pushed her lips back against his and they just kissed for the next couple of minutes.

Blake pulled away again. "You hungry?" He asked her reaching down grabbing her hand then started walking.

"What's on the menu?"

"Uncle Louis?"

Anna smiled. Of course he would say that.

"This is soooooo gooood!" Anna said between bites of burger. Anna didn't exactly have the best table manners but that was who she was.

blake smiled. he loved to see his girl act like herself, even if she was a little messy at times. "enjoying that burger, babe?"

anna picked up a napkin and messily wiped her face. "its the best!"

a waiter came by their table, "hey anna."

anna looked up at the waiter. she looked him over for a moment then it clicked. this was her cousin marcos. he was uncles youngest child. he was also a paranormal, a hybrid to be exact. "hey marcos!" anna stood up and hugged him. "its great to see you again cus!"

he laughed heartily, "for a moment there I thought you wouldn't recognize me."

anna rolled her eyes and sat back down. she continued eating her burger as he walked off.

"I didn't know marcos was your cousin?" blake said.

anna nodded. anna hadn't known marcos very long. in fact she had only met him last year at thanksgiving.

FLASHBACK:

marcos grabbed his spoon and scooped it full of mashed potatoes and gravy. he turned toward anna and raised his brow in a are-you-testing-me kind of way. he put he spoon inbetween his thumb and index finger and with his other index finger pulled back on the very edge of the spoon. he pulled until it was barely touching his arm.

he was giving anna one last chance.

"im not taking back what I said." anna said playfully.

marcos shrugged then let the potatoes fly. anna stood up quickly managing to get the potatoes on just her brand new Arizona jeans.

"how dare you!" anna growled and lunged at marcos.

marcos was barely able to move out of the way. marcos started to run through the house being chased by anna. marcos looked back, but It was a little unfortunate because he was confronted with a whole plate of mashed potatoes.

anna fell to ground laughing as marcos stood there covered in potatoes.

marcos dipped his finger into the potatoes and tasted it. he smiled and anna went crazy with laughter.

"yeah I only recently figured out that we where related." anna said as she smiled at her thoughts of a year ago. she had forgotten what she had said but she rememberd that she had so much fun.

"you done?" blake asked.

"hm. oh yeah I am." anna replied

"alright then lets go." he smiled and stood grabbing annas hand and helping her out of the booth.

anna walked silently next to him as they headed back to the university. it wasn't that far away from uncle Louis but it was still a good distance away. anna glanced over at blake who was standing next to her in a protective way. she smiled. she loved him so much. if she had just been a friend in the
