"Phew! Good thing we're not late. Miss Gray could've killed us." Tom says as he wipes off his sweat using his fingers. "Heck yeah. She has the eyes of a hawk, the growl of a tiger,  and the claws of an eagle. She puts every student who gets in her way into detention." I answer. "Speak of the devil" he says. Tom quickly walks to his chair while dragging me to the same direction by elbow. And all of their stares point at me. I become an instant target whenever this situation boils up. And unluckily, it always does.

"Class, I want you to flip your books to page 61. Quickly." Miss Gray said hastily, and as soon as she finished talking, she grabbed a piece of tissue paper and while walking towards the door, and she, with all her might, blew her snot in it. "What the shuck happened to her?" I ask myself, but Tom quickly answered. "Word says that she and her boyfriend broke up" he whispers to me. "SHE HAS A BOYFRIEND?! I thought she was already married! SHE LOOKED LIKE IT! Well, it's that, or she just looks older...." I react. "Yeah, but by the way she acted the other week, it was seriously obvious. I mean, she had a flower in her hair, all skipping and singing some song from Titanic." Tom says. I chuckle at what he said. Tom's really funny. He cheers me up when I'm down, but he doesn't know that he's the one upsetting me.

Miss Gray comes back and I quickly shut up,and she writes something on the board. Maybe she lost her voice from all that sobbing. The writings said: Read the story on page 61. I bet we'll have a pop quiz later, and that's a result of her sadness, causing cruelty. She may seem like an ordinary teacher that is sensitive, but later, she'll magically, with black magic, that is, transform into a fire breathing dragon that eats Fs for breakfast.

And after 5 minutes of a heartbreaking story that I can somehow relate to, since it was about love, about a girl who liked a boy who doesn't love her back, but then one day, he asks her if they could be together. And after one happy yet tragic month, she breaks up with him because he cheated on her. It wasn't much of a happy ending. And as I hypothesized, we did have a pop quiz.

"Okay. Pop Quiz. Orally, one by one, and if you get it wrong or you couldn't get a single word out of your mouths, this earns you an instant F. Not D, not C, and certainly not B, it earns you an F. If you get it right, you get an A. Clear?" she shouts, and we all nod instantly. "Good. We start from the first row, up to the last row." she said as she steps to her chair and sits. We start off with Tom's number one admirer.  Jenny. She's sort of abnormal because when Tom looks at her, she screams. It's not a good way for your crush to remember you as the girl who screamed at his face just because he looked at you. And, being his number one admirer, she hates me. She really, realy does.

"Genevieve Greene, why did the girl break up with the boy?" Miss Gray asked as i roll  my eyes at such an easy question. "Um, ummmm" Jenny says, and I roll my eyes again knowing that she is, indeed, stupid for not knowing the answer for this question. 'Miss Greene, did you even read the story?" she says as she raised her eyebrows at Jenny. "I-i. didn't." she replies. "What is your excuse, Miss Greene? Was it because you were, for the one thousandth time, looking at Mr. Faulkner?"  she said with, as I said, the growl of a tiger. "No?" she answers as she her lips quiver with fear. "With a question mark? If you read the story, you, certainly, would be able to answer this question," she said. "Yes, I did. I r-read it." she said as surely as she could, but it was still obvious that she didn't read it. "If you read it, you'd answer the question. Answer it, or I have no choice to give you an F." Miss Gray fiercely says. "B-But---" she replied and ,as quickly she answered, was cut off by Miss Gray. "Sit down. F. As for you, Mr. Faulkner, you'll go to detention." she said. 'B-BUT I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG!" Tom quickly stood up from his chair and protested, but Miss Gray's heart was just too cold for her to change her decision. "I don't care. My lips are sealed. You will go to detention, and if you refuse to, you'll have another detention next week. And if you still don't go, I might as well grade you an F in my class. Dismissed." she said as bitterly as ground coffee beans. "B-But I---" Tom said, but he was cut off just like how Jenny did. "No buts, Mr. Faulkner. Sit down." Miss Gray said. Tom was, again, going to protest, but then he was cut off by the bell, signaling that we have another class to attend to. "Good riddens, class." she says heartlessly. I could point out words that could describe how cold her heart is, but then this crossed the line. Tom ran out of the classroom, speechless as if someone used him as a scapegoat. I run after him, hoping that I could make him feel better.
