Chapter 15: Tyler's POV

The walk down the corridor was a trial all on its own. The only sound I could hear was the trembling of my heart as we approached the room. My fingers fiddled with the single silver ring on my index finger. The cold of the ring burned my fingers as my body seemed to be ablaze.

"Ebony," called the brute leading me to my father's chamber.

The guttural depth of his voice shook my consciousness away from my thoughts, "Sir?"

"We've arrived," The man's black eyes seemed to glow with ill will and seethe with poison. With a vengeful nod, the ogre stomped away, never once looking back.

Once the man was out of sight, I allowed myself to slide to the floor. My back ached as it slid down the wall. My head balanced on my knees and I allowed a shuttered breath to escape my lips.

'You're scared. No, you're terrified. How pathetic. The son of Ebrus can't even handle daddy issues'  I shook my head, it didn't matter, not right then. I was about to jump straight into the abyss, and the abyss will definitely not give me a soft landing.

I stood on two unsteady legs. My mind was certain, but my body hadn't gotten the memo yet. My heart wouldn't stop pounding, but my gears wouldn't stop turning.

I am tired of being afraid.

Two Years Ago

"You worthless scum! I feed you, I give you shelter, and yet you question me? I'll show you, you insolent boy!" My cheek burned with a new passion, one only hatred could produce.

He swung again, his onyx ring slit my cheek, and my eyes threatened to spill.

I didn't lay idle. I tried to dodge, to block, to defend myself, but he simply overpowered me. His shadows raised from hell and descended upon me. They held me down, darker than ebony.

"You insufferable boy! You're just like your mother you scum!" My father's voice seethed through the pain. The shadows turned to thorns and were now a symphony of crimson and pitch.

My arms cried from abuse and exhaustion. I felt my head hit the carpet, the world became distorted. I could taste the scarlet dripping from my cheeks, my eyes, my nose, my mouth. Everything seemed to happen in slow motion. My limbs were made of something heavier than lead, my eyes, however, refused to leave my torture. My eyes refused to let me escape into the warmth of sleep.

He punched, and slapped, and pushed, and kicked, and-

'It hurts. It hurts. It hurts. It hurts. It hurts. It hurts. It hurts. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Why won't it stop? Please. Please. PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!'

     I Snapped.

     I stopped fighting.

And when it was over,  I realized that these scars would disappear with time, but the ones that can't be seen, they wouldn't disappear anytime soon.

Present

"Father, you requested my presence?" I inquired stoically. I would not give him the satisfaction of knowing my fear.

"Ahh, yes. I requested you for a job, one that is too risky for any of my assistants to handle. You're expendable, you know this, yes?" He cast a wicked glance towards me, but I did not react. I knew his games.

"Anyway, as you know we are working to overthrow my immortal children, those pests. I require someone inside of their camp. The gods seemed to request the help of Chaos' strongest team of warriors and is planning to use them to defeat us. This will not happen. However, as a precaution, you will infiltrate Camp Half-Blood and assassinate their leader. If you can get one of Chaos' spawns you will be, let's just say, rewarded," Ebrus swished his glass of wine bored, as if there was no excitement in the impending doom.

"Yes, father. How will I infiltrate them?" I questioned, formulating a plan of treason in my thoughts.

His raven eyes seemed to glare into my carmine ones with something keen to interest, a sick curiosity, "Well boy, I will 'claim' you after a few hours of your arrival. That will definitely stir things up in their little misfit brigade. You will have to come up with the rest."

     "Is that all sir?"

"Hmm yes. I suppose it is," Ebrus looked away, the interest completely withdrawn from his gaze.

I began to leave his quarters, the shadows never fully withdrawing from the room. I was interrupted by the low voice of my father, "You know what will happen if you fail, don't you Tyler? Or do you require an example?"

The threat was more of a promise than anything. A cold shiver ran up my spine as I remembered all of the beatings of disobeyed, failure, and entertainment. "I understand sir," how my voice didn't shake is an unfathomable feat.

     "Then begone boy,"

The shadows receded from the room, but never from the corners of my mind.

Omega POV

"Was it really necessary for you to chase him until he threw up? Allagi asked, her arms crossed cheekily.

"Why yes, it most certainly was. It's not my fault he has the stamina of a rock," I replied mockingly. Allagi smiled and shook her head. She hopped down from the tree branch she had been lounging on and landed gracefully on her feet.

"Alright, alright. I get it. You can jump from a tree branch. Bravo," I called to her clapping slowly.

Allagi's eyes shone with a competitive glint, "Alright pretty boy. You want a challenge, I'm always up for a win."

"Fine. Lets see," I thought for a moment, unsure of the challenge. The it hit me, "How about a test of strength?"

"Oh? What do you have in mind?" She asked.

"If you can push me down to the ground you win, but if I push you down the I win. Sound good?" Allagi's eyes twinkled with intrest. A smile broke out onter face as she strode closer to me.

     "Alright. You ready?"

"I dunno. Are you ready to get your butt whooped by none other than little old me?" She visiously mocked

"Oh, you're definately going to loose now," I playfully shouted.

Our hands locked together on both sides of our faces. We pushed against each other playfully at first, then when it seemed to be going nowhere quickly, we began to push at each other harder.

After minutes of struggling, I gave one final shove.

We fell. Well, to be more precise, I fell on her.
