The Sea

Out of dust falls the glittering glass shards

They crack as they land hard on the cold floor

And I can only act by placing the right cards

To defeat the dealer on his own shore

Black jewels and milky pearls does the sea hold

Treasures beyond the farthest eye can see

But the tides are perilous so they told

And the path to victory is not free

To the sea I go with my net and crew

My eyes full with the dark grey of the ocean.

How I miss the feeling of sunshine and morning dew

But the tides and the riches call for a life of motion.

The sea, oh the sea, has brought me to here

The beast in the depths drying me of my youth

But the waters still call to me and the sky is still clear.

Tired I am from this long life of woe

Years and years have passed and still I remain

So long, so lost is my time, but I go

In search of treasures I wished to gain.

And here I stand in this life of broken glass,

The crash of the waves bringing be back to the past.
