Dean and Sam both stared at the interior of the TARDIS. The entire bridge was larger than the sizable blue box they had just been investigating.
"Well?" The Doctor asked pride in his energetic voice.
The brothers stared at the controls in mild horror."This thing really flies through space?" Dean asked. "I'd rather trust my Baby with that kind of insanity."
"Your baby?" A new English voice asked. It was masculine and rolling with a hint of derision in it.
"My wheels." Dean explained turning to the curly haired detective.
"Are all of you aliens?" Sam asked incredulously.
"Just The Doctor." Cas replied simply. "The rest are all humans."
"How do you know that?" John asked politely.
"I'm an angel." Cas replied before Dean could suggest he stay tight lipped.
John shook his head. "First an alien now an angel. What next? Demons?"
"As a matter of fact..." Their host started. "We're all going to a dimension where all of you don't exist to stop the evil you defeated in this one."
"Parallel world." Sherlock murmured uninterested. "What fun is that if we're just doing what we've already done?"
"You aren't." Rose replied heavily. "Evil has consumed this parallel, if we don't seal it from the others than this world could be infected by the evil there. We aren't going to just fight things off, we've got to close the rift in case it can't be saved."
Dean and Sam actually understood what was happening. Blame it on the places they had traveled to and the things they had done, but Rose made perfect sense to them.
Cas nodded. "Sounds about right for you." He inclined his head to the doctor.
"This sounds like that silly sci-fi program John was watching yesterday." Sherlock said bluntly. "I don't believe in parallel worlds or angels for that matter." He looked pointedly at them all waiting to be proven wrong.
Dean glared. "You people who get to live normal lives just don't get it do you?" He looked apologetically at Rose. It was always a pain dealing with unbelievers when they explained the truth. "Those of us who know how the world really works don't have the luxury of not believing in something. I used to claim angels weren't real. And then this guy here saved my sorry butt from hell. Don't tell me angels don't exist. I've met enough to last me centuries."
"Not to mention we're aboard an alien ship." Sam added.
Rose grinned at the brothers. These two were already getting it. Their other companions for this adventure not so much.
"Prove he's an angel." Sherlock demanded like a spoiled child. John rolled his eyes shaking his head.
"He won't move until he gets impericle evidence on an angel." The ex-soldier explained.
"Give him what for Cas." Dean grinned at his heaven - sent friend.
Cas nodded slightly before squaring his shoulders. Suddenly the calm demeanor was gone and so was the awkwardness. Instead the air seemed to be charged with electricity. And then as the light grew brighter the dark shadows of two enormous wings spread on the wall behind the angel.
In a matter of seconds the show was over and the only people not staring were the Winchesters and The Doctor.
John blinked and stumbled back against a railing. He grabbed onto it for dear life. "Angels exist." He muttered too shocked for conversation.
"Well then, all that settled?" The other nonhuman asked in a jovial tone.
Rose was almost in tears. "My mum used to tell me about angels when I was a little girl."
Cas smiled at her gently. "I apologize if I have caused you discomfort."
Rose just smiled back at him.
"So just who are you?" Sherlock demanded.
"I'm Dean Winchester, this is my brother Sam, and this is Castiel." Dean always took the lead in introducing his family. Yes even Cas was considered a family member, maybe a distant cousin but still part of the family.
Sherlock scoffed. "The Winchesters died several years ago."
"Faked." Sam replied a little sad. The events of the showdown with Lilith's demons during their near imprisonment hadn't ended well.
"So you heard of us?" Dean asked.
"I have heard of you." Sherlock corrected the hunter's grammer in agitation.
"Who are you?" Sam asked curiously.
"Sherlock Holmes and John Warson."
"The consulting detective and blogger doctor." Sam added.
"You read my blog?" John asked in mild pride.
"When I get the chance. Hunting takes up a lot of time, but sometimes a sleepless night is best spent reading the struggles of someone else." The tallest man present admitted.
"Hunting?" Sherlock asked in confusion. What good are hunters?
"Demon hunters." Dean explained impatiently. "Ghosts, monsters, and the occasional bad angel."
"Those things really exist?" John was well surprised by all of this.
"Come on man, I introduced you to an angel and you doubt the existence of other supernatural creatures? Must have some serious trust issues."
"I wonder where I get them." John replied eyeing Sherlock seriously.
"Introductions aside are you all ready?" The Doctor asked reclaiming the attention. "Anyone not wanting to continue may speak now." When no one said a word he grinned. "Oh I like you lot, determined and not afraid of danger. This will be a grand adventure. Allons-y!"
