"Snakes don't bite Faes, Rowan," Aelin glared, hand twitching with anticipation as she guided her fingers closer and closer to its bright gold exterior. His arms crossed, he smirked at her determined face. She had never seen a snake of such coloring, so she vowed she would befriend it, even jumping off of her steed and delaying the journey to do it. He knew for a fact that it wasn't any ordinary snake, however, he wasn't quite sure about wether or not he wanted to tell her that. Maybe, he drawled, her string of curses would be stronger than the snakes venom. He barked a laugh, only fueling Aelins fury, until she practically had fire leaping from her eyes. "Hahahaha," she mocked, sarcasm pouring from her lips, "I am a queen, not some imbecile princess." She was almost pouting, however Rowan guessed that her pride kept her eyes from ever laying a gaze upon her toes. Aelin studied the snake closely for another moment, before dawning a determined expression. She was going to touch it, her heart leaped. The tips of her fingers grazed its scaly surface, and she beamed, determination turning to pride. "I told you, Rowan. I know these thing-," the snake trembled unexpectedly and Aelin jumped back, eyes wide with realization. "LYSANDRA," She barked, edging closer to the shape shifter with anger. Her excitement about the snake was soon replaced with disappointment as she yanked it up by its middle. Nimbly, she leapt atop the silver stone with ease, eyes never leaving the snake. "Stop laughing, you mutt!" She faced the long, golden, serpentine, barring her teeth at her disguised and shaking friend. Rowan roared with laughter, finding the scene to be too much for his usual stoic expression. The snake slithered from Aelin's hands and down to the grass, before transforming in a white light back to her true self. Aelin only sulked above, feeding the air heat as it radiated from her. Lysandra's golden curls bounced as she laughed, "how-," she gasped," did you know?" Her balance was unstable as she returned to two feet, and she steadied herself using Rowan as support. Aelin narrowed her brows, arms crossed at her chest, and dead panned," It was chuckling, Lysandra, snakes don't chuckle." She slid, feet flat against the rock to the ground. The blonde wiped the tears from her eyes, now standing tall, and smiled, "I'm sorry, Aelin, I've just never seen you so excited before," she grinned ear to ear,"AnditwasRowan'sidea," she sputtered, hiding a guilty cough behind her palm. Aelin shifted her gaze to him, digging her heel into the muddy grass. Debating the options in her head, she considered turning them into a smoldering pile of goo, but she concluded that it would be too much of horrid thing to do to the landscape. Though, it was pretty muddy, she offered herself. And oh how she hated mud, maybe even more than not having a golden, fire blowing, dragon. She seemed to pause for a moment, gaze wandering to the mountains behind her; thinking. Her glare turned to a frown, and then soon subsided all together, bringing forth a a toothy grin. "I hate you guys," she shook her head, swaggering towards them and hooking her arms around their shoulders. Her companions doubted the forgiving tone in her voice, but dismissed it, not daring to ask. Jokingly, she kicked Rowan's shin, sending jolts of tingling pain through her toes. Her face held its grin, though, as she gazed up at him, "That was for two moons ago," she declared thinking back to the catastrophe. She sat cross legged on the earth's mossy floor, hands folded in her lap. The wind whistled behind her, however her thoughts were focused solely on the candle in front of her. A forgotten pile of, now dry wax, lay behind her as memories of failed attempts to light only the wick. She had been trying for several hours, with little progress. The training exercise was something she had come up with when she was thinking about her past battles. When she did burn things, it was always crazy and powerful. The way she liked it. However, if the need were to arise for something stealthier and small, this would have to do. Either for threats or for better precision, she didn't really care. Both would be useful, she had decided.
She sent what she thought to be a small spark toward the candle, however when she opened her eyes, for the millionth time today, it wasn't even lit. "What the-," Her head snapped to the giant standing behind her. "What are you snickering at, Rowan?" She spat, glaring at his boastful smirk.
The warrior raised his brow, feigning ignorance,"Just watching," he stated, a maddening tone in his voice. He had been standing there for quite a while, not even moving the slightest. Growling, she whipped her head back around and clenched her eyes shut in annoyance. She was done with trying to hold back, it obviously was not enough. Her last string of patience snapped and she sent a wave of purple and blue fire towards the candle, perfectly fine with wasting yet another candle. She opened her eyes expecting to see an additional bubbling pile of wax, however the candle stood the same as it had. It was then that she felt it; the slight, magic filled, breeze smelling of snow and pine.
"Rowan," she snarled, leaping to her feat and bounding towards him. However, she was met with only a barren field. Her feet shredded through the blades of grass, as she bellowed, fury clawing at her throat. "ROWAN!" Her voice tore through the air. After only the sound of birds singing and FleetFoot barking in the distance, she heard his laugh echo and bounce off the rocks behind her. She grimaced and strode towards their camp, planning her companions demise. It was sure to be an interesting sight, she had thought, however her rage soon dwindled, and she realized she hadn't eaten in quite a while. She would have to go hunting, she concluded. A smile appearing on her face, she snickered, a thought suddenly dawning in her mind. She laughed a wicked sound.
Rowan wasn't eating tonight.

"Was the burnt rabbit not enough?" Rowan inquired, raising his brows, slightly annoyed. Aelin promptly shook her head, "No. No it's wasn't," she stated In a matter of fact tone, causing Lysandra to laugh, mirroring Aedion who came to stand beside her in a taller patch of grass. "So much attitude, Aelin," he teased, absentmindedly swatting away clingy insects. Aelin smiled, knowing full well that the blond had just as much attitude, perhaps just not as.... Violent of one. Bending down she feigned astonishment, hand over a particularly muddy patch of land. "What is this?," she gasped, motioning with her hand for them to follow. Lysandra crouched down to her height, face contorted in confusion. "What is I-," she bent closer only to be the on back on the dirt, face covered in filth. She growled at Aelin who was now wiping the mud from her hands, "oh, you think you're so clever!" Getting up, Lysandra prowled forward, ready to pounce on her grinning friend, until- Were they laughing? She whipped around, glare directed solely on Rowan. "Aelin," she murmured, sliding towards the ground. "Of course," The blazing queen replied, understanding the thoughts running wild through her counterpart's mind. Aelin took her stance towards her cousin, who she had decided was suddenly too clean. Rowan, eyes wide, backed up slowly. "We're comrades, correct? There's no need t-," She took off, sprinting towards him with now joyful eyes. Taking to the air, they both transformed, pecking at each others hawk forms playfully. Aelin smiled at her companions, then turned to ruin her cousins perfect complexion. He smirked at her, entirely ready for a mud fight. However, all too sudden, she dropped the mud she was holding, realization hitting her like a ton of bricks. Looking towards Evangeline who was asleep on her horse, her smile dropped. She swore that beside her there should have been..... "Wh-," she stammered, "where are the horses!?"
