I have a story to tell you about a girl named Alexis. This is a real story about a girl who disappeared into the forest. Nobody knows the true story, except me. I was thirteen at the time, but she was sixteen. We were sisters that did everything together even what our mom said not to. We were troublemakers, we would never listen, and we loved to explore. We had just moved to Sumpter, Oregon and there was a set of woods behind our house. Our mom said "Not to go into the forest without me." I understand why she told us now, but then I was young, naive, and didn't care...
Me and Alexis was playing outside, with our dog Apollo. When our mom said "I am going to the bathroom. Stay close to the house." We said " Ok, Mom, Love you." When she went inside Alexis whispered "Let's go into the forest! It will be fun, I promise." "No, I don't want to di-" Alexis Interrupts and says "We are not going to-" "Yes we will." I said re-interrupting her. "Don't be a Buzzkill, or a chicken." and she starts making chicken noises. "Fine! But only if we take Apollo." "So it is a yes?" She asked "Come on before I change my mind."Now, before you judge, I was only 13 and I did it because she is 16 and she is my older sister. I don't know when we left, but I do know that it was almost nightfall. As we entered the forest I wanted to go back, but I wasn't going to leave my sister. I didn't want to make her go alone. Plus, it could be a fun adventure, if it were noon and our mom was with us.
We were surrounded by trees and it was dark, like we could only see the outline of the trees around us. But I didn't know where we were or which way was home. This is where things get weird. We heard a noise, like the sound of heavy footsteps on leaves, then I feel eyes on me, I start to walk slower and stop. I turned around and saw my sister, who was right behind me, had just sat down right in the middle of this weird star shaped thing with candles, and that wasn't there a minute ago. I said "Alexis, stand up! I want to go home and I'm scared, and cold. Let's go!" She responded in a low, dull, scary voice and said "I just starting to have fun." "Alexis, Stop, you are scaring me!" But she didn't move she just sat there and looked at me, through her hair.
As she was sitting there someone came out of the darkness and said "Run." and started going into a manic laughter. So I ran and I was screaming bloody murder, I guess my mom heard me because she caught me, and I was crying. She kept asking "Where is Alexis? Where is your sister?" I just kept pointing to where I came from and she said "Why? Is she ok?" I couldn't say anything. I just walked to where she was. But she wasn't there, just the remnants of melted candles and broken chalk. I never saw her again and I was so upset and I still go to the spot, every year, to find her.
