Chapter 3: The Adoption

Living in the Rukongai was interesting but still boring. I abandoned my temporary home and bought a two story building. It had easier access to the market and was on the border so I could go foraging or training in the forest or mountain area. Ever since I moved into the neighbourhood i've been getting a few quests and that improved some of my relationships with the citizens.

I also had found recently found an Auction Site in my Options so that day I sold all of items I didn't need and gave me a net worth of 20,000 Kan. It wasn't much but since my level was still low I didn't want to risk anything.

My level was 6 but that didn't matter, it's easier to raise my stats this way... I think I should be a Kido practitioner. If I could get my RCTR higher than it would be a cinch to master any Reiryoku based attacks or defences. Most of the smartest characters knew Kido and if they were used correctly it could be a very powerful weapon.

I browsed the Auction net for any useful items and right before I was scrolling to the next page I found the 3 books. Bakudo, Hado and Kaido spell books, just what I need. I bought them all and then I absorbed all of the contents.

To test these out I went into the time ID where the time difference was 3:1 meaning 3 minutes in there would only be 1 minute in the Soul Dimension. I set up some targets in different areas, thus my grinding began.

Time Skip - 3 Hours

Chanting all of the easiest spells was easy but the accuracy was still a tiny bit off even though my RCTR had improved huge leaps. I had used every spell at least once but Bakudo and Hado 90-100 I had left alone. Byakurai, Sho and Sai were the only spells that reached level 5 the others were either level 2-3.

Kaido was a bit more... painful. Literally, I had to injure myself then heal, but at least it helped my Pain Resistance level up to level 13 and for that I was grateful.

For my next idea I wore some weights and went into the Zombie ID. The strategy was using Sai as a CC then finishing them off with a Byakurai to their heads. If they somehow survived then I used Sho to repel them if they got too close then repeat the whole process

[Bakudo #1: Sai] Leveled up to 8

[Hado #1: Sho] Leveled up to 6

[Hado #4: Byakurai] Leveled up to 10

Looking at my loot it was the usual items; piles of soul stones, some rotten teeth and a rib. I sold the half of the soul stones and the rest. Yesterday I had an idea that if I fused some soul stones together, would it create a higher density crystal or one that is actually packed together.

Holding only a few stones together, I used some Reiryoku to pour over the stones and then waited. A slight shift was felt and then I stared at it as it folded together.

[Uncommon - Soul Stone]

It worked! Now I'll try discharging some Reiryoku inside to see if it stores it because of the name. Then a spark of lightning repelled my hand away... Interesting, I wonder what the opposite effect would do. I carefully removed a tiny amount of Reiryoku then absorbed it as my own.
