"Baby, I'll be back before you know it." Luke said to me smiling lightly. He was leaving for tour today, and will be gone for 8 months. It's pretty upsetting.

"But, Luke that'll be eight months without your sweet kisses." I pouted, laying my head on his chest. I teared up and hugged him tightly.

"I know, babe. Yours too. I swear, any free time I get, i'll come visit you. Or you could come visit me!" I smiled, sniffling. "I love you." He spoke kissing my forehead.

"I love you more."

luke pov

It's been three months since I've left for tour, and I've missed Bailey greatly. She hasn't been talking to me that much, seeing I've been very busy with the tour and all. But, I've decided I'm going to surprise her.

I boarded the plane and sat in my assigned chair, next to some old man and his wife. I got the window seat, so if they need to get up and use the bathroom they won't bother me any.

8 hours on a plane here I come.

I got out of the taxi that arrived to her apartment complex, I smiled at the memory of this place, and how much I loved it. This was my second home. And hopefully one day, it will be my only home. I spend most of my time here anyways, at least when I'm not on tour.

I walked up to her door, picked the spare key up out from under the bunny.

I brought cupcakes, so I set the cupcakes down on the kitchen counter when I got in the apartment. The familiar smell of her home makes me have butterflies.

That's right. Butterflies.

I heard rattling coming from Baileys room. I walked towards her room, making sure not to hit the new vase with the carnations in the hallway, because of what happened last time.

I opened her door quickly, hoping to surprise her, succeeding. "Luke, don't look!" She yelled. I looked at her, in complete and utter shock.

"What the hell?"

She had a bunch of pills laying on her dresser, she was taking some of them at the moment when I walked in.

"What's all this?!" I yelled placing my bags on her floor. "Are you a drug addict or something?"

"No, Luke!"

"Then what is this?!" I was furious. I wanted to know why she was taking so many pills. She slid down on the floor, breaking down with tears.

"It's nothing." She said lightly.

"Have long have you been doing this?" I sat on the floor a few feet away from her. She wouldn't answer. "How long." I said with a more angry tone.

"Ever since I was five."

"Five?! You've been doing drugs since you were five??"

"No, Luke! I have a medical problem."

"What type of medical problem requires you to take so many pills?"

"Well a lot of problems do. These are all the same medications, I just haven't thrown away the bottles."

"I want to know what problem."

"Luke,"

"Bailey. I want to know." She groaned and moved her hair out of her face.

"Okay, okay. I'm intersex."

"What does that mean?"

"It's a general term used for a variety of conditions in which a person is born with a reproductive or sexual anatomy that doesn't seem to fit the typical definitions of female or male.  So we took hormones to make me develop as a girl."

"So, you have lady parts right?"

"Yes." She nodded.

"So can you have kids?"

"They say I'm not able to." My face turn into a frown. "I know."

"W-why didn't you tell me this?" I moved forward, grabbing her hands with mine.

"I was ashamed."

"Ashamed? Why?"

"Because I have to take hormones! I have to make sure that I stay myself!"

"Babe, hormones or not, you're still my  Bailey. This doesn't change anything about how i feel about you. Okay? I love you." She smiled and started crying again.

"I-I love you too." Her face fell into my chest, and she just cried. And I let her.

"You don't know how much you mean to me."

a/n: the secret doesn't seem as big as what ive made it out to be, but bailey really struggles with this secret of hers. she doesnt like the fact that shes different from everybody else, which is why she hasnt told luke until he caught her with those said hormones. if you dont know what they do, they prevent her from having the similarities of a boy. not his boy parts, but facial hair and stuff like that.

she was scared to see how he would react, and if he would reject her like all the other boys did when she told them the said secret. i was first going to make her a transgender, but that seemed too relevant and something that could majorly happen, which i didnt want to do. i wanted to make her different than the other stories. not alot would have this secret plot.
