Harry's P.O.V

I was just sitting at home, watching T.V. when I heard the door open. Louis had taken Hannah out for dinner tonight, I hadn't expected him to come home at all yet alone this early. He came and stood in the doorway, his eyes watering. I sat up and looked at him.

"Hey, what happened man?"

“She…uh, broke up with me,” he said, his face scrunching up as he tried to stop himself from crying.

“…I’m…sorry Louis…I didn’t think she’d do something like that…”

“Yeah, I know…whatever,” he said shrugging. I could tell he was about to break down. I signaled for him to come and sit next to me. He walked over and sat. I put my arm around him and pulled him in for a hug. After a few seconds he began sobbing into my shoulder. We sat like this for hours, him letting out his feelings, me trying to comfort him. Once he had stopped crying and stood him up and walked him to his room. I opened the door and tucked him into bed.

“Thanks Harry,” he said as I walked towards the door.

“Anytime buddy, I’m here for you,” I said as I shut the door and walked to my own room.

I woke up at 4:15 in the morning after having a nightmare. I’d dreamt that someone had shaved off my hair, it had really scared me. I got up to get a drink of water. After I’d calmed down a little I went to go back to bed. While I was walking back I heard sniffing coming from Louis room. I sighed as I slowly opened the door.

“You alright Lou?” I asked. He rolled over and wiped his eyes. Smiling sadly at me he replied.

“Oh you know, seen better days.” I laughed as I walked over to the end of his bed and sat down.

“I still don’t understand why she’d do that? You two were perfect together,” I mused. Louis sat up and stared at me.

“She said that she felt as though we were drifting and that my thoughts were always elsewhere when we were together,” he said shrugging.

“But you two were so happy…” I continued.

“Harry, if you keep reminding me I’m going to start crying again and I honestly don’t think my eyes could take it.”

“I’m sorry. Are you sure you’re okay though?” I asked noticing his body was shaking slightly.

“…Harry…would you mind staying with me?” he asked sheepishly, not making eye contact.

“Aaawww, move over boo bear,” I said standing up so I could get into bed next to him. He smiled as he threw the blanket off him so I could get under. We lay down facing each other and smiled. “Good night Louis,” I said as I got comfortable.

“Night Harry…and thank you, really.”

I woke the next morning with Louis’ arms wrapped tightly around my torso. If anyone walked in now they would have seen two half-naked teenage boys spooning in bed. But it wasn’t like that with Louis, we were just best friends…even if I did feel strangely comforted by his huge biceps…but I’d always felt comfortable around Louis, it was just how we were. I slowly pried myself out of his grasp and mad my way to the kitchen to make breakfast for us. I got out some bacon and sausages. Louis deserved a nice breakfast after the break up.

Louis’ P.O.V

I waited until I heard the door shut before I opened my eyes. I didn’t want to admit it but I felt that Hannah had been implying something more when she’d told me that my thoughts were elsewhere. I knew deep down that it was because I was always thinking about other things, not our relationship. I’m pretty sure the breaking point for her was when I’d cancelled a big formal date we’d planned for a week to hang out with the boys…either that or the one time I’d almost called her Harry in bed. I’d thought I’d managed to cover it up. Hannah, Harry…it had come out Harrah and she was too busy enjoying herself to pay too much attention to what I was saying but she might have caught on. It wasn’t that I was imagining him or anything, I was just thinking about him…and I was allowed to, I mean he’s my best friend. It’s no biggie. I stood up and pulled on a pair of tracksuit pants and a hoodie before walking into the kitchen, I could smell bacon and it was making me hungry.

“Morning,” I said a little too cheerfully when I saw Harry standing in front of the stove frying up a whole lot of meat.

“Hey you, thought I’d make you some heart repairing food,” he said turning around to smile at me.

“More like heart clogging. I’m probably going to have some major health issues if I try and eat all of that,” I said gesturing to the overflowing pan.

“Did someone mention food?” I heard a familiar Irish accent say from behind me. The rest of the gang were walking through the door.

“Well hey everyone, didn’t know we were holding a family meeting,” I said, getting up to hug them all.

“I called them,” Harry said, dividing the food onto five plates, “I told them about Hannah.”

“Oh,” I said sitting back down, “well I’m alright now guys, don’t worry.”

“Are you sure?” Zayn questioned, putting his hand on my shoulder.

“Yeah, I’ll survive,” I replied happily, patting his hand reassuringly.

“Your eyes are still puffy, were you crying last night?” Liam asked. I don’t like how observant he can be sometimes.

“Yeah but I had Harry so I stopped eventually,” I said smiling at my friend, “plus I feel like it was going to happen sometime, and I’m not good at breaking up with people so it’s probably better this way.”

“Whatever you say man, as long as you’re sure,” Niall said, taking his plate and sitting down on the stool next to me.

“Yeah…I’m gonna be fine. I have you boys to look after me,” I said smiling up at Harry as he passed me my plate.
