The Night After

"Babe, it was nothing." I sighed, running a hand through my hair, as I explained to Liam what had happened last night.

"It wasn't nothing, you kissed-" He said angrily, getting up from his seat on the couch to pace back and forth.

"Li, we were both drunk. We didn't know what we were doing." I said calmly, trying not to make him more upset.

Last night we had all went out a club. The boys, their girlfriends, and Liam and I. It was supposed to be a fun night. We wanted to celebrate the premiere of, This is Us, but things got a little out of hand.

"Drunk or not, you still kissed my best friend." You could tell it wasn't easy to say. I had kissed his best friend. He was right. Liam would never cheat on me, drunk or not.

He looked hurt, and betrayed. It wasn't Harry-'s fault. We were dancing, when it got out of control. I barley remembered what had happened until Liam looked a tad off.

"Liam, I don't know what to do." I stated, my voice cracking.

I couldn't lose him. He was my everything. I know I don't deserve him, but I need him with me, by my side.

Liam didn't say anything for a while. His gaze was stuck on a picture of him and I on the bookshelf. We had just started dating. We looked so happy, so in love.

It has now been almost a year, and we weren't ending soon. It can't end soon.

"I." He paused, not knowing what to say. I could tell he was mad, but for the most part he was hurt.

I wanted to hold him, and tell him how much I love him, but I knew he didn't want that right now.

He picked up the first item off the counter he saw, which was his phone, throwing it across the room in aggravation.

His fist was clenched at his side, obviously not knowing what to do with himself.

"Liam I think you are over reacting." I said a little louder than the last time I spoke, getting his attention.

"Am I?" He raised his voice, making me a little aggravated.

"You kissed my best friend, and played it off as if it never happened." He screamed, making me flinch slightly.

"It's not like you are perfect." I shouted back, surprising him at the least.

"You don't think I notice how you flirt with Sophia." I said bitterly yelling out her name.

He was taken back, but looked angered.

"Sophia is just a friend, and you know that. Don't try to turn this on me." He spit out. I stomped closer to him, crossing my arms over my chest.

"It is the same thing with Harry and I." I shouted, ignoring the last part of his statement.

"I'm not snogging her, that's the difference."

I gritted my teeth, giving him a dirty look.

"So you think I have snogged Harry more than once is that what this is really about?" I screamed back.

"I don't know, but you sure have gotten closer lately." He continued pacing, as he kept running his hands over his face, and his hair.

I knew he was just acting this way, because he was upset, and afraid of losing me. But enough is enough, and who does he think I am?

"Oh so you think I'm a slut." I said, chuckling bitterly.

His head snapped towards me. I could see his eyes looked a little hurt I would even think that he would call me such a name.

"I need some air." He huffed, before walking towards the door.

"Are you just going to run away from this? You can't just dodge this Liam." I yelled, annoyed.

"I'm not-" He started, before groaning and shutting the door behind him.

I didn't realize I was crying until I felt a warm tear reach my lips.

I can't let him leave.

I picked myself off of the floor, running out the door. I looked both ways, not seeing Liam down either hallway.

I was too impatient to wait for the lift, so I ran down the stairs. Nothing would hurt me more than the love of my life walking out of my life.

Liam was my everything.

Without him, I would be nothing.

I ran out the front doors of the building to see no one at all on the streets. I guess that could be, because it was nearing dawn.

I ran back into the building, until I remembered Liam loved looking out on the balcony.

He said he loved to watch the city go by, but he always said I was more beautiful than any view he has ever seen.

I pushed the doors of the balcony open, and there before me was the saddest sight I have ever seen.

Liam crying.

He was on the concrete, his face in his hands.

I ran over to him, wrapping my arms around his body.

I could feel his body shake with sobs, his eyes red from crying.

I began crying along with him, holding him as close to me as I could.

"I'm sorry." I repeated over and over again, trying to calm down.

"I love you." I whispered into his ear, lifting his chin, so his eyes would face mine.

He looked so sad, so broken.

"I love you." I sobbed, wrapping my arms around his chest.

"Shh baby." He whispered into my hair, kissing my head repeatedly.

"I love you too baby. I'm so sorry for accusing you for having something with Harry." He said, holding me tighter.

He kissed me with so much passion, making my head dizzy. When we pulled apart, I hugged him again.

"I love you."
