November's Knock

SUMMARY: Mara Morgan awakes just before midnight, her stomach aching from the immense amount of chocolate she had eaten a few hours ago. Technically, there are three minutes left of Halloween, meaning that's it's still October.

Mara sits up her bed and facing her bedroom window, watching the moon shine through the tree limbs just outside her window. She hears the coo of the owl that's been in her family's lawn for so many years and just won't go away. She smile's to herself, thinking of it's familiarity, and then suddenly, there's a knock on her bedroom door...
