He got tense and thought for a minute. Oh no! Crap. "U-um you don't have to answer that!" I blurt out. I just get up from my bed and walk over to my bathroom, the door now broken, and grab my wooden box. He didn't see me put my blades in there so he doesn't know where they are.

I walk over to my ratty box of belongings and put the box down in the bottom of the cardboard box, gently covering it with a white sheet I have from my parents house. When I turn back around Brendon is watching me with a questioning look on his face, arching his brow.

Then he just got up and left the room. Without answering my question...

Oh well. I sigh and crawl under the warm covers and pull them up over my head. At least I still have my music. I plug in my earbuds and turn up "This is gospel" as loud as my iPod goes, and fall asleep.

Brendon's P.O.V

"Would you even consider adopting me, even though I'm so messed up?"

I freeze. I know she has been in here for a long time, but long enough to lose hope. Would I consider it? I mean she has problems and it might be hard but, isn't it worth it?

She gets up and goes to the bathroom where the incident just happened. She's only 10, poor girl.

Once she comes out with a dark brown wooden box I'm curious as to what's in it, and watch as she bends down and puts it carefully in the cardboard box. She turns around and I look at her questioning ly and raise my brow.

I decide to just let it go and stand up and leave. Jogging down the stairs I see Mrs.Kevins the Orphanage owner and walk up to her. She's looking at me with wide eyes and a plastered on "kind" smile and says, "So, will you be adopting today?" Am I?

"Yes, but I need to decide which one I want to adopt. Can I have pictures of Samantha, Will, and Layla to take to my band mates?"

"No problem just give me one second," she says in a tone that a cheery receptionist would use. Once she comes back with the file of pictures I turn on my heels and walk to the door. Will comes waddling up to me and hugs my legs, being only 5, and he says "Bai Bwendin!" Aw! I lean down to him and tell him bye.

I get up and walk to my car.

*That night*

I still haven't decided who I want to adopt. I think I want to adopt Will. I look at all of their pictures again and decide.

I'm going to adopt Will. When I go downstairs to the basement to tell Dallon he is playing the Xbox. (A/N They all live together) I clear my throat and Dallon pauses his game and turns around looking at me with an impatient look.

"I have decided."

"On what? What we are having for dinner cause I was thinking pizza..."

"No, on who I want to adopt!"

"Oh! Tell me! Tell me! Tell me!"

"Ok... I've decided I'm going to adopt Will." A look of disappointment comes over his face. "Oh." Is all he says. I know he really wanted me to adopt Layla, but I think someone littler and more hyper would be fun.

Turning to go upstairs I hear Dallon, "You know you should think about adopting Layla, she's been in there for a while and I think a girl would be fun... Just" he pauses,"think about it. Please?" I nod my head hesitantly and slowly walk upstairs.

I grab my iPhone and dial the orphanages number. One ring, two rings, three rings, then someone picks up. I'm sweating. "Hi, this is Brendon Urie from earlier, and I'm calling to say who I'm going to adopt." I hear Mrs.Kevins fake perky voice on the other end, "Oh that is great! Who have you decided on, and when will you pick them up?"

"I have decided I'm going to adopt, Wi-Layla!" At the last second I decide on saying Layla's name. "Great, and when will you be available to pick her up?" I decide on tomorrow morning and work out some more details and hang up. Two minutes after I hung up Dallon comes into the room smiling like an idiot. "What are you smiling for?" "Because you adopted Layla! Oh my gosh Brendon, you did it! When are we getting her??" He starts yelling and getting excited like a teenage girl.

"Tomorrow morning at 8, I hope she likes us." I am kind of nervous, I don't know what to expect. "Don't worry I know we will be great parents, and this will be awesome."

And with that note I wandered upstairs to my bedroom, flopped on my bed, and passed out. Thinking about Layla, and our adoption.
