I was tubing through the river with my Kev, you know how that river flows. It was mid July and the air was hot. I look up high above the trees at the burning sun in our camp. My family and I had traveled five hours to camp here in Helen Georgia. Change was in the air. Was it strange that something felt off? Its early afternoon and I continued whittling my stick I found in the woods. I had always been one for adventure, especially camping.

I am nothing like the stereotypical teenage girl that everyone expects me to be, but I am more of a tomboy who longs for adventure and excitement.

"Dora, you are getting all the wood shavings on me." Lana, my older sister complains. I shrug her off and continue with my business. The main reason we came on this trip was to go tubing down the Chattahoochee river. As a lover of water, I was thrilled and tired of waiting. "Y'all ready to go tubing" my dad asks. "Yep let me go change." I say with joy.
My sister follows me into the girls bathroom to change into our bathing suits. I pick a simple mint colored bandeau top with black bottoms. I top it off my baseball cap over my long chocolate brown hair.

"Lets go!" I exclaim. "Wait Dora dont forget your stick!" my older brother Kevin informs me. "Oh ya thanks Kev." I thank him. The stick was for pushing your tube off the rocks if you ever got stuck.

The car ride is exhausting and overheated, but I knew it was worth it. Soon we were checking in to get our tubes and I was looking super hot.
A bus takes us to the best part of the Chattahoochee river and my family and I slip into our tubes. Ok, my family, not your usual family. Honestly I cannot stand to be around them. So, naturally, I attempted to stride far far away from them.

So I was on my own and it was quite relaxing. However, I was getting pretty bored, so I needed some distracti- OH CRAP...who is that man. It was Nesse Dahn.

I had not known his name at the time, but I knew I loved him. His hair was a soft brown with light curls. And those eyes, the color of hazelnuts. YUM.

I search for opportunities to make a move, but have to be discrete. "So where you from?" wtf. This is not Nesse Dahn. It was the friend of Nesse. I honestly dont know his name. " New York" I say as I look at Ness.

"Blablablablahetalksaboutsomeotherstuffbutalliseeisnesse".

Oh no, I think I have fallen in love.

Ooh. Oooh oooooooooh baaaabeee. I do not believe my eyes. What a sweet treat! Not only was happy to be away from my parents, but to be around such a juicy boy. Oo la la. I could feel his hazel eyes on me as a I attempt to subtly flirt with my hot bod. Wait. His friend is still talking to me, for I had not noticed his the little twerp. I love you Nessie Dahn, but I must be discreet.

However, while I practiced the act of discreetness, I notice treacherous rocks ahead of me. You see, the rocks formed a boundary that only alotted a tiny space to pass through. This rock boundary required contact with Nessie, so, naturally, the butterflies began to flutter.

While being discreet, I allow Nessie and his friend to pass through the rocks. As Nessie and his friend make their way through the passageway, the friend jokingly fakes a fall off his inner tube. I roll my eyes and attempt to hide a laugh, but I could not help but notice Nessie laugh along. As I lift my head up to meet his hazel eyes with mine, I noticed he was already staring at me. He was a beautiful boy, a dream and blessing from heaven.

We shared that laugh and proceeded through the boundary, a moment I will cherish forever. After a few more flirtatious looks and romantic glances, I hopped out the river, and Nessie followed. While I waited for my family to finish tubing, Nessie would not stop staring at me.

Finally, I spot Kevin and I meet up with him. As I socialize with my kev, Nessie starts to walk away. He paces farther and farther way from me, and my sadness augments with his every step. As I started to lose all hope, I am gifted with one last grin from Nessie, renewing my fleeting hope for our future.
