“Please please please don't leave me alone tonight. I can't bear to hear mum and dad arguing again the whole night.” Katy, my little sister, begged as I set my tray down on my lunch table. A freshman like her shouldn't be talking to a senior like me right now even if she's my sister and she knew that. It was going against the social barriers or whatever shit names people call that. All I knew was that those are the rules and they needed to be followed.

“Katy, first of all, mum and dad haven't been arguing in a while so I think you can stay home. Next, you shouldn't even be here talking to me and you know it.” I said, sighing as I sat down. “But Emily-” Katy answered. “No buts.” was my short reply before ignoring my sister completely. She walked away to her friends with her head hung. “Don't you think you were a little too hard on her?” Allyson, my best friend, asked. I shook my head. “No. She already knows we've been planning this night for days.” I said, giving Allyson a pointed look.

My name's Emily Hanes, eighteen year-old senior and resident queen bee at Thomas Iquinas High School. As you've just read, I have an annoying little sister named Katy who doesn't know something called 'proper timing'. And I'm about to make history with my best friend Allyson tonight at a party to be held by a friend of mine. Tonight, the party of the century was about to happen. Well, for Thomasian students anyway.

I know you're probably thinking, Oh, I already know this type of girl. She's a slut and a total bitch. Maybe I am, maybe I'm not. About the slut part, anyway. I admit, I'm a total bitch sometimes, but I'm only like that when I'm super pissed off.

I bit off my Granny Smiths. “And she owes me. I covered for her when she went to that stupid party two weeks ago.” I explained further. Allyson shrugged, knowing that she couldn't argue with me. We started eating as our other friends sat down in their places on our table.

I saw Derrick, the host of the party, come to our table. I plastered a smile on my face as he approached. “Hello, ladies.” he said in a smooth voice. I rolled my eyes. “Stop trying to be smooth, Derrick.” I said, but a gave a small smile to make it obvious that I was kidding. “Aw, I thought it wasn't too obvious.” He said, sitting down beside me and ruffling my hair.

Derrick and I were kind of close because our brothers were best friends, therefore we hung out a lot even when we were younger. Derrick was Hollywood-handsome, but I didn't have any feelings for him. He was a childhood friend and that was it. But Allyson believed otherwise.

“Hey Derrick.” Allyson greeted, waving a hand at him. “Uh, hey Al.” Derrick said, not really looking at Allyson. I smirked. Derrick had a huge crush on Allyson and trying to look nonchalant about anything Allyson does was his way of hiding his feelings. Which I thought was kind of cute, if only Allyson would stop teasing me that Derrick and I were a perfect couple.

“So, I needed to ask you guys something about the party.” Derrick asked, grinning like a fool. Allyson and I rolled our eyes simultaneously. It was so obvious. “No need to ask, Derrick. It's already automatic. We'll be in the cleaning committee after the party.” Allyson said. He gave us a pat on the back. “Thanks!” he said, sending a wink at our way as he left.

Allyson turned to me and whispered. “Are you guys together in secret and not telling anyone?” she asked. My eyes grew wide and I whipped my head to her. “What the fuck, Al?” I asked. “Come on, Emily. Lately, he's been going to us more. He's always trying to talk to you. I can see that because I'm always there so don't deny it!” Allyson said, smirking. Yeah, exactly! You can see because you're there. He's trying to make you notice him! I wanted to shout that at Allyson. But I can't, since I promised Derrick I wouldn't help him.

“Al, if I had a boyfriend, you'd be the first to know. And I don't think I'd keep it secret if I had one.” I said. I wasn't lying. I really would be proud if I had a boyfriend because- well, because I've never had one. And having Derrick as my first boyfriend? So not happening.

Allyson smiled at me as she finished the last of her food. “Then I hope you meet someone at the party tonight so you can finally tell me that you have a boyfriend.” she said.

Loud music was blasting in my ears, and the ground shook every time the bass exploded from the gigantic speakers. “Excuse me.” I meanly said to the people dancing in front of me. Can't people at least have some decency to see that I'm trying to pass here?

I admit, This party was off the hook. I underestimated Derrick's social power. Everyone worth knowing was here, and some B Class people were even participating. People from all over town were here, and even those no one in town knew but obviously was someone back from where they were attended.

Finally, after getting past the sea of bodies in what used to be Derrick's living room, I sat down on the antique table at the end of the hall. Even though the crowd here was still tight, no one was sitting on the table. Allyson found her way to me, Derrick on her hips. They were obviously drunk, and I couldn't let the opportunity pass to be able to see this like this again. I got my phone and started recording. “Hey!” Allyson screamed at the camera. Derrick gave a confused wave at the camera. I chuckled as I they started saying crazy things on the camera.

I scanned the crowd and as my eyes stopped at the front door, I saw the most gorgeous guy in my life.

He was tall, tan, and had a model's body. Hell, he looked like a Vogue model. The white v-neck shirt he was wearing clung to his body, showing some muscles on his arm and some abs on his stomach. His jawline was prominent, and a stubble on his chin made him look hotter, not older. His brown hair, already glistening with beads of sweat due to the body heat, was in a sort of quiff. His hazel eyes glistened mischievously as his eyes looked around the room before settling them on me.

It was like a predator finding its prey and marking it as his. His lips curled into an unmistakable smirk as he made his way to me. He pushed his way through the crowd. Oh my god, was he making his way to me? Whether or not, I had to take safety precautions. “U-Um, Al you should go get more beer with Derrick. Or go up to his room or something.” I said absentmindedly. I jumped down form the table, leaning on it instead of sitting. “Sure.” Allyson slurred before grabbing Derrick's hand and dragging him to wherever she felt like going.

Vogue Model was making his way to me. As I met his eyes again, I saw an intensity and darkness that seemed to go from his eyes to his lips, his smirk still there. As he took one, final step to reach me, he ran a hand through his hair, biting his lip in a sexy way as he did so. I backed up as he placed his hands on either side of me, trapping me and giving no chance for escape. Not that I was able to think of doing so.

“Hey. I'm Liam Payne.” he said, looking me dead in the eyes.
