The black fur was more thick and woolly then the last time I saw him, his eyes where wide and his teeth was still bared.
"Shouldn't you be avoiding the forest?" His voice soft in my ears, but a silent growl escaped his tightly closed teeth.
"I should but doesn't mean I will" a good reply that dosen't need an explanation. I lifted the skirt of my dress up and glanced down to my boots inspecting the now mud covered tips, leaves sticking to the bottoms of my boots, small dirt splatters covered the sides. I took a step forward advancing towards the wolf, his teeth soon became hidden and his head flopped over to the side.
"Your song was beautiful" The wolfs words rang in my head.
"You hared me" He did, but I asked regardless.
"I did" The wolf sat his eyes focused on me glowing gold in the dark, his ears raised and his teeth still hidden but his nose flared. Another step forward, and another.
"Was you watching me?" I questioned lifting one of my thin brows and gave a sharp look though my light violet eyes, carefully tucking wisps of hair behind my ears so I could see the wolf more clearly. His height was huge and his fur was thick giving him a much more cuddly look, but the black spelled out danger.
My instinct told me to run, but my curiosity dragged me forward.
"You was waiting for me" his husky voice had a more human tone to it, the truth of his words was sweet and also human. His eyes where softer the gold light faded slowly almost reveling the human colour, but my next step forward to him made the eyes glow golden once more. A growl escaped his lips and his eyes narrowed on my neck and his teeth widened, my hand grabbing at my neck in an instant. The growl was low but fierce sending shivers down my spine.
"I was" I admitted, my head lowered but as another growl irrupted the air my head looked up at the wolfs face.
First thought was he hungered to kill me. The second, the silver the holey cross. I pulled the silver chain the cross from my breasts and landing on my dress front, with an instant the cross was pulled over my neck and into my left hand where I lowered it onto some soft ground so that itwouldn't get lost or damaged.
"Its okay" I let the chain slip from my fingers onto the ground, and walked past it, the wolfs growl faded and soon disappeared. His eyes gold faded, and humanity came back clear in his eyes and the way he relaxed.
I stood no more then a step away, my hand extended out from my red cloak and shakily approached the wolfs muzzle, his snout lowered to my hand level. He took a step forward my hand bumping into the head of the wolf, warm. Warm musky fur soft to the touch wrapped its way round my fingers its thickness engulfing my pale in comparison to the black fur, hands.
The wolf moved alowing my hand to trace over his head, skimming his soft ear with my finger tips and down his back as he rubbed himself against my side, his warmth instantly warming me. Unlike any fire this was soft soothing warm heat, it prickled my skin but it kept me true. His scent, like a wet day the smell of murky wet moss and pine cones. The smell was enchanting, beautiful even.
His fur brushed my dress skirt causing it to brush against my stocking legs, I could feel the warmth from the wolf though the fabric of my clothes.
"Hope" his voice low and faint.
His eyes still shined gold, but they where much softer. He let out a loud breath and then laid down on a pile of leaves, leaving me to fight the shivers of the cold wind that I was once used to come back and taunt me. I shivered agonised the cold wind my eyes locked on the wolf who was now. Sleeping?
