I ran over to her with the lead rope sending the other horses running, but she didn't move, unusual. I carefully stepped up to her. And I can guarantee that this sight was the worst, most discussing and scary thing I had ever seen! Pegasus's back left ankle was bent at the most horrifying angle! I broke down in tears, " I can't believe my horse broke her leg" the only thing you can do for a horse with a broken leg is.... I could never bare to think it! Cate came run to me putting comforting arms around me then Pegasus tried to put weight on it making a terrible gross sound making me want to puck! Another round of tears streamed down my face but this time I had to do something for my horse I ran over to support her! Cate held her had and my mother I had just ask to drive down to my grandmas house and grab the leg supporting horse raps that I had left down the so off she went and just a moment latter I felt a the air rush from my lungs and my self flying to the right! I could hear Cate yell " Ashleigh!!!!! She's been kicked!!!" I struggled to regain my breath but I was determined to as soon as possible so I could continue holding my horse then back jogs my mother, with all the voice a could muster I said " Mom the raps PLEASE go get them!" She just kept saying "not until I am sure your ok" All at once the words rushed out of my mouth " MOM GO I will live, Pegasus is going to DIE!" Fresh tears streamed down my cheeks I could see Cate getting choked up too.
So I forced my self up through the sharp pain in my left side, I just had to pretend I was ok so she would go and get it! I yelled after her to phone the vet and uncle Ted , Brenda was holding Kass off on the hill I could see and as my mom went by them they joined her, and what seemed like an eternity waiting in pain hunched over holding my Horses crooked ankle all I could do was cry. My mother return with the smallest piddley little rap ever it would do absolutely nothing be look like decoration I was very angry but what could I do, and a time dragged on my grandma, grandpa, uncle Ted, and Brenda all came down Brenda baring all the raps I was so grateful. Uncle Ted and my grandpa helped hold my horse up who was now trying to put weight on her left hoof, and me my grandma and Cate held her head waiting forever for the vet. I was sobbing so hard I could barely hold her my grandma handed cate the rope and bent me down with her and gave a prayer a long sad hopeful prayer, will it be granted I wondered.....
