I awoke to what sounded like children laughing, but when I sat up, there was nothing around me, just a vast dark emptiness. Suddenly, I was overcome with this sense of fear. The fear you get when you know it's going to end badly. With this I stood up and called out. But no sound came out. I started to panic, and ask myself questions. Where am I? What is this place? Why is there no sound? Am I alone? Is there someone else here? If so, who? Or What? Then I heard it, the laughing again. I turned around and tried to look for where the sound came from, but there was nothing there. I started to get worked up, and breathe harder. But then I reminded myself to calm down and break down the situation. I started to think. I wasn't in a room, if I was there would be a light source, because I could see myself, but there wasn't, darkness everywhere. I thought some more and then heard the laughing, and then a voice.

"Why hello there, welcome to the Void"

"The, Void?" I asked.

"Yes, the Void. The eternal darkness, the beginning and the end of everything."

I thought for a moment, I then asked, "Why am I here?" The voice replied,

"I don't know, you were the one that got yourself into this mess. You tell me."

I thought on this, then asked, "Who are you?" The voice replied

"Surprisingly, I am you."

"What?"

"That's right, I'm you, or in this case, the other you."

"How does that work?"

"I am actually a voice in your head, so if anyone were listening, you would be talking aloud to yourself, asking questions, and getting no verbal answer."

"Wait, if you are a voice inside my head, then how did you know where I.., I mean we, were?"

"God, you're really stupid today. First off kid, there is no we. I am in no ways like you. The only thing in common we have is a body, and by the looks of it, you ain't doing so hot."

I looked down at my body and was wearing what appeared to be some sort of armor, and it was in REALLY bad shape. I had dried blood everywhere and some open wounds on my arms. The thing was, I wasn't wearing this when I first awoke. Before I could say anything the voice cut in saying.

"Hey kid you done checking yourself out? Because I'm about to leave and do something else, so see ya later kid!"

And with that, the voice was gone. The time went by, every once and a while I would find a new cut or scrape somewhere new. I sat in that void for what felt like days, weeks, months maybe. After a while I started to hear things. Crying, screaming, and gunshots. Then there were cries of mercy, begging not to die, then silenced. After that I would started to see bodies, hundreds, maybe thousands, laying everywhere. All dead, or dying. After all of this I started to breakdown, I couldn't take it. Then after that eternity of what could best be described as Hell, the voice came back.

"Hey kid, your time's about up."

Startled by this I could only reply with "What?"

"Ya, I reached my limit, it's time to wake up Drace Sactrin."

This was the first I had heard this name, but then realized it was mine. Before I could say anything.

"Oh ya, when you do wake up, you are going to have one HELL of a headache!"

Before I knew it I felt a pain that could be best described as hitting my head against a brick wall at supersonic speed. Then I blacked out.
