Scarlet's POV

I laugh at my best friend's cheap joke, then sigh. I open the door and step outside, Tiana quickly following me, the early morning breeze sending a chill down my spine.

Me and Tiana have been friends since the 2nd grade. We've been through thick and thin together and always without a doubt were there for each other when times got rough for our families. My parents practically think of her as another daughter as well as her parents and what they think of me.

I check my phone real quick and see its only 8:03. After coming late at night to Ti's house and having a little intimate moment with Connor, i was over the top and desperately needed someone to talk to. Tiana then refused to let me drive home at 2:50 am and insisted on me spending the night.

"Thanks so much Ti for talking to me about all of this... Especially since i came so late last night..." I whisper, hoping that Connor isn't listening to my babbling and she nods, smiling sadly.

"Its ok Scar, you know I'm here for you to talk to anytime. Just like I'm sure you are for me." She puts her hand on my shoulder and gives me a reassuring squeeze which I gratefully take. With Char in the hospital, a complete stranger texting me, keeping in touch with Paul and all of the confusion at home... I desperately need a friend like her who will talk to me without a problem.

"Let me know how your fam's doing, especially Charlotte..." She smiles sweetly giving me a quick hug. We exchange our small goodbyes and before I know it I'm driving towards the hospital to see my beloved sister...

**********

I pull into the back of the hospital's parking lot once again and checking the installed thermometer in my car, I know that the early morning sun has already warmed up the morning air enough for me not to regret parking so far back. Again. I slip on my sunglasses and pop my keys into my purse and as I take out my phone to text my mom about that I'm visiting Char, I receive once again a text from the same unknown number. I swallow down the uneasy feeling rising from my stomach and open up the message.

'Morning Scarlet. I hope you slept well, how's your sister? x' The text reads.

What the hell? How does this person know my name? I admit its sweet for them to hope I slept well, but still. Its sweet, but creepy. For all I know this could be a psychotic woman. I inhale deeply to try and prevent the bile from rising from my simple yet extremely creepy thought.

'I think she's ok, I'm visiting right now...' I type first but quickly add, 'How do you know my name?'

And send it. I stare at my phone for a few moments like a complete lunatic but quickly pop it into my purse when the annoying buzzing from my phone doesn't sound. I grab my purse and hop out of my car, making sure I locked it before speed walking towards the hospital building. I start to think about what I will say to Char when I see her... Oh right! Tiana and me agreed that I am going to lecture her about the best band known to girls of the 21st century!! One Direction!!! I smile, but then frown, maybe I should get in touch with Paul? I whip out my phone before I can over think this and begin to type away.

'Hey there Paul. How's it going? Busy I'm guessing?? Haha I bet. Anyways, I'm at the hospital to see Charlotte. Pop by if you feel like it. :) PS My parents are inviting you and the lads for dinner tonight - 6:30 sharp! ;)'

Once I'm done, I quickly send the text before I re read it and change something. I quickly check to see if the stranger has texted me again, and stop mid step to read the new text.

'I'm glad your sister is fine. And it doesn't matter right now how I know your name... just let me know how your sister is feeling once you leave.'
