PROLOGUE

You always read those stories that start off with a guy and a girl who are completely in love with each other, but they're too stupid to confess. This is not one of those. This is a story from a girl's point of view. A young girl's take on friendship, trust, love, and new beginnings. All of these are hard to accept in life especially if they've caused you hurt before. Love is the most dangerous of all. Being in love is like being drunk. You're disoriented, a bit oblivious, and you don't understand everything that’s going on. Love also makes you do stupid things. Stupid, unfathomable things. I told myself that I would never fall under love's spell. I vowed to never let it get the best of me. I vowed to never allow it to make me do crazy things. Technically, in a way, I vowed to never fall in love. Well that didn't work out so well. The reason for that is Mr. Dylan Crenshaw. He's the reason that I failed.

See, Dylan is 17 while I am 15 (going to be 16 in March). Of course, at the beginning of my unfortunate turn of events, I was just a naive little girl. My parents had divorced when I was 13 so I came up with my own incredulous belief. That love was merely of the imagination. We come up with crazy things when we're in distress.

Now here's where the story takes a casual twist. Dylan and I despise each other. I know that you've heard that kind of stuff before, but not like this. Dylan was actually my best friend at a time. Well, that was before his mother died and he somehow held me to blame. Then the unexpected happened. I'll hold off on that one till later. Anyway, Dylan and I are... Well I don't know what we are anymore. Maybe we're star crossed lovers like Romeo and Juliet. I highly doubt it though because Romeo and Juliet didn't want to rip each other’s head off. They just wanted to shove their tongues down each other’s throats.

Ok, I'm getting off topic. See, my story is definitely a complicated one. A journey of twists, turns, and flips. I mean you try losing your best friend and realizing that you're a witch. Ok dang, I gave it away. Well now you know. Now let me ask a question. Can you manage a normal life while trying to survive high school and witch training? I'm just barely making it by.

My name is Andy Garcia, I'm 15 years old, and I hope that you enjoy my very cynical and unfortunate turn of events.
