The Girl Who Plays Basketball
Chapter 1
New School, New Team
Andrea's POV
"Andrea hurry up, before we are late on our first day!" Cameron called from downstairs. I brushed my hair faster and put on eyeliner and mascara before taking my school bag, my gym bag for my basketball and shoes, and hurried downstairs. Cameron was holding the door open, impatiently waiting for me. I sighed and rushed out the door and went to his car, Cameron quickly following.
"Here's a bag of cereal since you missed breakfast," Cameron said handing me the bag. I said a small thank you before eating the cereal because I was hungry. I looked at Cameron and saw he was wearing his dark blue jeans, that was kind of sagging, a nice white v neck, and his new kicks. He also had his gym bag with him, being a family with quite the money, and a really nice car. Everyone stopped to look at our car as we approach the school.
I got out of the car, getting my stuff before waiting for Cameron to get out of the car. When he did we walked inside the school, people muttering and murmuring on the side. We went to the office that we quickly found and got our schedule.
"Compare classes now," I said taking his schedule. His schedule read:
1. History
2. English
3. Gemontry
4. Physical Education
5. Free Period
6. Spanish
7. Biology
Surprise, surprise, we had the exact same schedule except for history, since I had AP World History. I gave his schedule back giving him a thumbs up, before we went to find our lockers. We knew we were next to each other since our numbers were nearly the same.
'101, 102, 103.......'
"Find our lockers!" I told him gesturing him to the locker next to mine. We did our combination and opened our locker. I put my gym bag in it since my locker was the perfect size for it, and so did Cameron. We closed our lockers and he walked me to my first period.
"Excited?" he asked me. I shook my head. "Why not?"
"Because it's a new school, I have no friends now, I feel like a loner," I muttered.
"I'm sure you will make friends soon," he said comforting me.
"Sure I will," I said rolling my eyes.
"Well you have me," he said putting his cheery mood on, I gave him a laugh before stopping at my classroom. We said our byes and I went in, some students were there looking at me, so I went to the teacher first.
"Hi," I said getting his attention.
"Ah! You must be Andrea, I heard we were getting a new student, but I didn't except so soon, take a seat anywhere, and do whatever until the bell rings," he said politely. I nodded and faced my attention to all the desk. Being me, I went to the back corner where the windows were. I looked out the window thinking about everything.
"I think you are in my seat," a voice said from behind me. I turned away from the window and faced a guy who was wearing a basketball jersey.
"Is your name on here?" I asked him raising an eyebrow. He looked surprised at my response but didn't answer. He just took the seat next to me, soon more guys with jerseys came in, like three more. They took the seats near him and I was surrounded by guys.
"Goodmorning class, today I'm gonna start by saying we have a new student," he began. I groaned and put my head on my desk, this is not how I wanted to start school. "Andrea please stand up and tell us about yourself," he said gesturing me to stand up. I sighed and slowly stood up and I saw all eyes were on me, I focused on a girl who looked nice and felt sorry for me.
"My name is Andrea, I'm from Florida, I have a twin brother named Cameron, we played basketball growing up, and yeah," I said simply before sitting down again. The girl I was focusing on gave me a smile, I smiled back not wanting to make a bad impression.
"Thank you Andrea, now class pull out your textbooks and read chapter 4," he said sitting at his desk. I heard the class groan pulling out their books and reading.

"How was your day so far?" Cameron asked as we entered the cafeteria. I gave him a small smile.
"Boring as always," I replied. He nodded knowingly. We got our lunches and I was trying to find a seat before someone called our names.
"Cameron and the girl next to him! Sit over here!" I saw it was the basketball team and I saw the guy who was sitting next to me during first period. Cameron tugged my arm and we walked over there.
"Hey Cameron, who's the hottie?" one of the guys asked while all the guys eyes were on me.
"Aye Daniel, this is my twin sister, Andrea," he replied sitting down. I sat next to him since there was room.
"Nice to meet you Andrea!" Daniel said with a huge smile. "Let's introduce you to everybody," he suggested. I nodded slowly.
"This is Hunter, Matthew, Connor, Tyler, Jake, Spencer, Nathan, and Blake," he said gesturing to the guys as he talked. I nodded understanding and registering all the names. "Guys these two are Cameron and Andrea." I got a few hi's which I returned.
"Blakey Boo!" a high pitched voice said from the next table. I saw a blonde get up to go to Blake and sat on his lap before they started making out.
"Ahem," Hunter said ruining their makeout.
"Hi! I'm Anna and this is my friend Emma," she said introducing herself to Cameron and me. Well mostly me since Im the only girl at this table.
"Im Andrea," I replied with a smile.
"Nice name," Emma complimented.
"Thanks," I said.
Maybe this school isn't that bad at all.

"Basketball tryouts!" the coach announced. Cameron and I were trying out for the avaiable spots on the guys and girls team. The guys were surprisingly watching the girl tryouts. I was gonna play one on one with a girl named Jessica.
"Start," the coach said throwing the ball. I was able to get the ball and quickly dribbled around her and did the fake out before shooting the ball into the hoop. I scored a point and the girl looked frustrated. She got the ball and headed to the hoop she was gonna hurt, before I stole it from her and throwing from half court making the hoop.
"That's all I had to see," the coach said taking notes on his clip board.
"Congratulations...........Andrea! You made the team," coach said giving me a congratulating smile. I was so happy and gave Cameron a big hug, the girl kept glaring at me.
"Girls! Come and meet your new member!" the coach said and a bunch of girls came over in their jerseys, one of them tossed me one and another one tossed me shorts.
"Im Melinia, captain of the girls team," the girl in my ap class said. I gave her a friendly smiled, nodding to give her a signal I heard her. "Here's Natalie, Katie, and Kylie they play the main games, and the backups are Bianca, Marissa, Carla, and Sarah." I nodded saying a small hi to each and everyone one of them.
"That's our team, hope you do good this season!" Melinia said cheerful making a group hug.
