A familiar, unwelcomed visitor,

Processed into my jail cell once again.

I tried to lock you away with pills,

But that just compounded the problem.

Clap me in irons, drown me in hot tears.

You aren't welcome; this isn't a conjugal.

I thought visiting hours were over.

"Just serve time; it frees the captive heart."

Time never served me. Neither did my bonds.

I remain shackled to the past, without an escape or a break.

Release me from the Incarceration of Heartbreak.

Free me from the Prison of Memories.
