Chapter 2

Chase's POV:

"By the way Chase, I have a good news for you," Chris said.

"What is it?" I ask, all ears to him to listen to his good news.

"Oh! On the second thought, nevermind," Chris said with a mischievous smile.

"Oh come on Bro, spill it," I said to him while hitting his back playfully.

"Hmmm, lemme ask first...What would you feel if the one you love, loves someone else?"

If I were to think of it, I really don't know if she likes me back.
Actually if she really loves someone else and not me, I don't know what i'll do. Maybe i'll just accept it, that's the best thing to do,right? I sighed while shrugging my head looking down at the ground."I really don't know."

"Well,just this morning, i've heard that Scarlet loves someone here in our school. I really don't know who,but that's what i've heard her friends said."

"Oh..."

I blink many times from what I heard,feeling the pain crossing my chest. Of course, she'll love someone ...and I bet that someone will be happy and will love her back. Disadvantages of loving a beautiful and nice girl, lots of boys will be happy to have her. I sighed and faced Chris with a blank look.

"And how is that suppose to be a good news?"

"That wasn't the good news. I was just asking and curious what you might say or what your reaction might be...." he said"and also the good news is, she's still our classmate." He smiled.

"Oh,that's a good news."

I sighed again. Why do I keep on sighing today? Is it a sigh day today? Nobody reminded me about that. I laugh in my mind at the joke that I just come up with. Well,it's not really a joke because it's quite true. I felt someone place an arm around my shoulder. I turn my head at my side to see who it is. It's just Edwin.

"Not happy Bro?," he asked, eyebrows crossed.

"Of course I am,it's just that even if we're classmates,nothing will still change. It'll always be the usual, just classmates and no more than that."

"Well, I agree with that," he nodded."But who knows, this school year might be different than the other school years. Who knows,maybe she likes you too."

"Woah! Hold it right there Bro!" I told him getting out of his arms while giving him a 'yeah right!' look.

"Don't keep my hopes up Bro,I might land in my butt." He laughed at what I said ,then seconds past, I and Chris laughed with him.

"And besides..." I added. "She'll never like someone like me, a coward and an idiot."

"You have a point there,you are stupid and coward---"

What a great friend he is.

"But still," he continued. "Nobody ever knows what she's thinking,only her knows. Anything might happen Bro." He still insists. I just give him a half smile.

Thinking of what he said earlier, finally the bell rang. Taking a deep breath and checking my hair if it's neatly done, I started walking fast....but not really that fast.

"Excited to see her,aren't we?," Edwin says keeping up with my pace,so is Chris while checking out with every girls we pass by. I let out a quiet grunt the moment I saw what he was doing. He really isn't a playboy, he just likes flirting with girls, same as Edwin and me. We flirt with girls,but we never sleep with them. If you're wondering if it's true. Well, yeah!
I mean flirting is a part of being a man,right? And also,if you're wondering if ever I have flirted with Scarlet before well.......my answer is no.
