*Halle*

I was so confused.

I knew that my being upset was normal, but there was a part of me that felt,..relieved that it was over. When I thought about our relationship as a whole, he really was a terrible boyfriend. He never made time for us to spend any time without his friends, and would always say that he was too busy (which I now knew meant he was too busy hooking up with my best friend).

I pulled out my phone and decided to make sure he knew exactly how I felt.

To Tyler:

"Just in case it wasn't clear, it's over. I don't ever want to talk to you again."

I hit send and blocked his number immediately. I took off my clothes that I had over my bathing suit and went out to the backyard to join the guys in the pool to take my mind off of things. I ran up and jumped right in, the water being extremely cold but still nice compared to the warm weather.

They swam over to me and gave me sympathetic looks.

"No, none of that!" I laughed. It was true. I was over someone who didn't make me a priority. I spent so much time making Tyler one in my life, and I was tired of doing that with someone who clearly didn't return the favor.

"You sure you're ok?" Jamie asked. I nodded.

"We should still go out tonight, though! We already made all of these plans with everyone, we should just go without Ty and his friends." I suggested.

They seemed to like this idea.

"Ok, if you feel up to it, we're in."

(Later)

I had gone back to my house to get ready after swimming with Jamie and Matt all afternoon. I showered and had put on a blue spaghetti strap dress. We were going to a club to just have some fun, and it was the perfect time to get my mind off of things.

*Matt*

"Dude." Jamie said from the other room as we were getting ready to go pick up the girls.

"Yeah."

He popped his head into my room.

"You know what tonight means right?" I gave him a puzzled look.

"Duh? Isn't Halle's friend Jackie going to be there? She's hot man, and I think she totally has a thing for you."

I shook my head. "Yeah, Jackie is hot, but I'm not sure I would ever have a thing with her. I don't think she's my type."

"That's your problem. We all know that your type of woman is Halle, but you won't do anything about getting the real thing and waste your time with wannabes. Just sayin'."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. My feelings for Halle haven't just been in my head. Other people could tell?

I couldn't ever tell her how I felt, because that would ruin everything. She has been with Ty for a long time anyway.

I couldn't act on my feelings.

We picked up the girls and went to the club. Jamie and I went to get drinks for them, and Jackie wouldn't give me any personal space whatsoever. She had her arm around me as I walked away, causing her to decide to join Jamie and I in going to get drinks. Jamie was wiggling his eyebrows at me, but I wasn't having it. Pretty sure she had already had a pregame party of her own prior to us picking her up.

I caught Halle's eye from across the way as we waited for the drinks, her eyeing Jackie and giggling. As much as I hated Jackie all over me, Halle laughing was the cutest thing I had ever seen.

She was trying to mouth something to me, but then a guy walked up to her and started talking to her. She said something I couldn't make out, and then nodded her head and disappeared from my sight. I grabbed the drinks and quickly dropped them off at our table, trying to find her in the crowd.

"Dude, let her be. She will be fine." Jamie patted my back. Maybe he was right. I don't even know why I cared where she was anyway.

The rest of the group got up to dance a little while later, and Halle's friend Jackie was not taking no for answer, so I went to dance with her for a while. I was looking for Halle the whole time though. Ty had just messed with her, and I didn't want anyone thinking that they could do the same.

I left the group to go and see if I could find her and make sure she was all right, and that unfortunately meant that Jackie was tagging along. I can't believe that Jamie was trying to set me up with her.

When we found her, we saw her dancing with the guy from earlier, and then I saw something that I didn't like one bit. He had grabbed her and kissed her.

I waited to see if there would be any hesitation, because that's when I would go over and tell him where he could go. However, there wasn't, and she was...kissing him back?

I was so confused. I looked down, downed the rest of the strong drink in my hand, and did the only thing I could think of doing in that moment besides going over to punch that guy in the face; I grabbed Jackie and kissed her, hard.
