Scarlett's P.O.V
I turned off the machine and sat down on my bed. Why don't they understand that I can't go back? Better yet, why can't they just leave me alone?
" Ugh! " I groaned and flopped down on my back. When did life get so complicated? When I left the Guard Squad, my inner voice responded.Yeah... wait, am I talking to myself? Oh, god. Maybe I'm going crazy.
I groaned and got up to go to my office. I sat down and turned on my computer. While I was waiting for my computer to turn on, I opened my file cabinet and pulled out She-Cat's file. My computer turned on so I pulled up her new prison record; which is where it says when, where and how she was sent to the Barricade.
The Barricade is the best prison in the state of California. I printed it out and stuck it in her file. I put it back and pulled out a couple more. The one on the top of the list read: Nitro.
I opened the file and started catching up on my reading.
Powers- Flying, strength, and can shoot red energy beams from his hands.
Name- Chase Williams
Parents/Guardians- Frank Williams aka Flashpoint
Current status- Leader of the Guard Squad
And it basically went on from there. Flashpoint was the leader of the Guard Squad when I was on it. Two years ago ( about right after I left ) his only son took over and now Flashpoint is just giving them info and paying the bills. Actually that was the case for a lot of the heroes; their sons and daughters took over their position. You see as a hero your parent usually has the power that you will get, so your powers are what you could call hereditary.
I was a rare case. My powers were not hereditary because my parents were both normal.
The next file I pulled was one that brought tears to my eyes; it was Element's.
I read all the details quietly without making and facial expressions.
Powers- Can change his body so that its different materials (e.g., stone, water, gas, etc)
Name-Carl Jones
Parents/Guardians- unknown
Current status- DIA ( A/N for all of you who don't know that's Died In Action)
I sighed loudly. I didn't know who my parents were either, but that doesn't matter to me at all.
I pulled out my file and read about my old life.
Powers- Can shape shift into the animal of choice
Name- Scarlett Petterson
Parents/Guardians- Carl Jones as guardian until his death
Current status- Out of the Guard Squad by choice.
I pulled out one more file which showed a quick summary all of the superheroes in the Guard Squad.
Members: Nitro- leader, power of flying, strength and shooting energy beams from hands
Mistress Flame- 2nd in command, power of controlling and creating flames.
Oh, that must be Flamario's daughter, I thought to myself.
Black Raven- Technician and the "smarts" of the group, the power of disappearing in shadows and darkness
Those were the main heroes in the group. There were hundreds all over the country that were just your everyday superheroes working in different cities but under the Guard Squad.
