'Luke. Get you lazy ass out of bed!'
My mum called.
(Okok, let's just fast forward through all this unnecessary crap,)
It was my first day back at school.
I got my class schedule,
Math
Science
English
Drama
P.E.
I like Math, Science and English, so I didn't really mind today.
I walked to Math, then Science, then English. I enjoyed it. But Drama, I hated drama. No, that was an understatement. I despise Drama. So I decided to bunk it. (I know what you're all thinking, bunking on the first day back? But I really didn't care.)
Anyway, I went where I always do when I bunk off. The roof. I slid into the stairwell leading to the roof, it was a way up, and we weren't allowed on there. But I found it a few years ago, I didn't tell anyone about it, I just come here when I'm bored and lonely. I got to the top of the staircase where the door leading to the roof is, it's normally locked, but what 16 year old kid doesn't know how to pick a lock? But this time, the door was open. I thought nothing of it and just strolled right through. I walked over and sat on the edge of the building, looking out over the vast peacefulness of Arizona at 1:00 o'clock in the afternoon. (I remembered the time, okay? It makes me feel safe.) I wore a watch every single day, and only took it off to shower.
Anyway.. A few years ago, they decided they wanted to build a rooftop garden up here, free for all students to study and walk around during free periods. So they planted trees and bushes and flowers, but last minute the council said they weren't allowed because it was too dangerous. The moral of that story is they didn't bother chopping down the trees and bushes, and the caretakers sure weren't going to do it, so it was all overgrown. Green everywhere. I'll be the first to admit, it wasn't very safe, there were roots everywhere, and if you tripped and fell off the side of the building, you sure weren't gonna survive it. That's why they kept it locked. The moral of this story, is I heard rustling in some of the bushes and a thump on the ground. I jumped up and shot around to see who it was,
'FUCK.'
A girls voice cursed.
She looked up at me and stared at me blankly.
'Hi.'
'Um, hey.'
I whispered, helping her up.
'I'm so clumsy...I just, fell you know...'
Her voice trailed off as she stared at me.
'Your Lukas.'
'I sure am.'
I replied
'And you are?'
'Oh, yes. I'm Sarah.'
She said, wiping mud of her black skinny jeans.
(Okay....so I didn't mention it earlier, because I didn't want to sound all vain. But I'm kind of the popular one here at school. Everyone knows me and I know everyone. I'm in both the soccer and basketball club. And thinking about it, I have a very large group of friends.)
'So..what are you doing up here?'
She questioned me
'The same thing you're doing.'
I replied
'Care to join me?'
I asked
'Sure.'
She replied
(There's a lot of 'he said' 'she said' in this, so just deal with it.)
She sat on the ledge, and I sat beside her. I leaned back a little as to look at her without getting caught.
She had the most amazing piercing blue eyes, long brown hair and a soft face. She was wearing a white crop top, black skinny jeans and doc. Martins. It was a hot day today, so she had a blue and black plaid shirt tied around her waist.
She looked beautiful.
