Prelude-

From the dock no one could hear the screams of the women, men and children of all ages. They were trapped, no way of escaping what was on that boat. Not even the captain, having lived in them seas for years knew that there was something more under the water.

This had happened before and only one soul in the whole town knew what that was, but she, who could not be named refused to tell anyone. She was ashamed of what she did sixty four years ago.

Above the town a bright light shone through the stars but again, no one saw it. Everyone was already in bed and being a Friday night, others were passed out. Dogs barked and cats hissed but no one took another look to the sky.

10km away there was a crash amongst the trees, the farmhouse not far away came to life and a bare child at only the age of 13 walked through the trees, stumbling to keep his balance on the uneven ground. There was a bright red light and he squinted to see what it was. Eventually the light faded and he walked closer again.

He reached out, touching the thick black rock. Under his fingers the rock felt like ice. Before he could pull away an unknown species hooked itself onto his hands. It was as dark as the night and thicker than tar. He stood there, silently watching the ooze make its way up and after noticing what it was doing, it was already too late. He couldn’t scream, couldn’t run. He had been taken.

The new beginning had already started, and no one knew.
