the fear of forgetting,
being forgotten or ignored,
or being replaced.
i think it's harder for the people leaving.
they have the memories;
the images behind their closed eyes
of everything they've known.
and the sorrow of absence tugs at their heart.
yet the people they leave
only have one
to replace,
get over,
and forget.
human's can't stand emptiness for long
so when that hole can't be filled
they collapse onto themselves.
