March 15th 2014. Two years earlier.

Today is my 16 birthday and I haven't seen Sammy since I left the prom.
I walked down stairs and saw that no one was in the house so I thought they went to work or something.
I decided to go to the mall because why not birthday clothes shopping very needed.
After the mall.
I got out of my car and went to my front door to lock it. I hear yelling. And then a gun shot.
Everything felt like it was in slow motion. I tried to unlock the door but my hands were shaking the rigging sound from the gun shot hurt my ears.
I finally opened the door and checked threw the house and found someone lying on the floor.
"Mom!" I yelled sitting by her restless body.
"Why would you do this!" I didn't know what to do I was in shock I don't I don't know what to do.
I couldn't move I stayed by her body in shock.
I heard the door open and someone come to the kitchen.
"Holy shit!" I heard Derek go closer.
"Sierra what happened!" I couldn't speak. "Sierra what the fuck happened!" He yelled once again.
"I-I came back from the mall a-and when I was going to come in and I-I heard a gun shot and saw this"
"Sierra go to your room I'm going to call the paramedics"
I slowly got up and went to my room and laid in bed but I couldn't sleep I just laid there.
3 days later.
I heard Derek talking to our dad.
"Dad can I talk to her she hasn't slept since the incident"
"Yeah go ahead but explain every single thing"
I then heard Derek come into my room. I was faced to the wall so he couldn't see me.
"Sierra I know your awake so I'm just going to speak okay, well when we were younger mom was diagnosed with bipolar disorder but it wasn't that severe but mom would have her times she wouldn't want you to see her in that way so she hid it and I guess that day was a breaking point" he didn't say anything else and just left.
How can she not tell me...
